Anti-2A states are going to hate her for Peruta En Banc - once it goes to SCOTUS and CCW is the rule of the land...

I said it when it first happened - when SD good cause got halted (I need to find that post).

I'm enjoying the moment, but my real party will be Election evening when I see a Red tide sweeping away a bunch of Blue whiners.

But that means that none of us should be complacent. Yeah, most of us are in California, deep blue, etc., but get out and vote for Cox, for any Republican, and if that means there's a Democrat running unopposed, write in someone else. Mickey Mouse, Dennis Prager, Dennis Leary, I don't care, just let them know we're mad as hell and their days are numbered.

I'm curious why you included Senator Manchin in the loser list?
Despite his political affiliation he voted for Kavanaugh

Because he's screwed either way. Vote for Kavanaugh, he ends up pissing off the Democrats and liberals. Witness how he got shouted down in the hallway after he pledged to confirm Kavanaugh. If he voted no, he'd most likely lose his re-election bid in a state that Trump won over Hillary by 40 points.

Manchin was in a lose-lose situation.

And if he wins re-election for standing up to the Dem mob and standing up for due process and for supporting an innocent man, then he's not losing.

That's a big 'if'.

What some see as "standing up to the Dem mob" will be seen by others as pandering by an incumbent senator on the ropes.

Not even the Red State Democrats, other than Manchin, would stand up for Kavanaugh.

Party Line Politics. Sad really.

Some of them have probably signed their own termination papers.
I hope so. Come November, maybe we'll pick up a few seats.

You go on ahead and see conspiracies there, fella.

I'll look and see political realities and what Manchin has said & done. When it comes right down to it, it's what he does.

Oh please. Conspiracy theories? More like Occam's Razor.

I wouldn't put it past any politician, Dem or Repub, to vote to save (or bolster, in Manchin's case) his/her re-election chances.

Heitkamp has given up and accepted that her time in the Senate is done. You think that if she were ahead of Cramer in ND that she would have voted no?

So, do we have a name for this newest Democrat tactic yet? If not, we need one. You know we are going to see it used again. Best I could do was political character assassination, but that is not nearly strong enough.

Borking? High-tech lynching (Clarence Thomas)? Kavanaughing?

Shooting your party in the foot, all the way up to the brain?

Long-term, this whole nomination process has been a rolling disaster for the Democrat party. They've abandoned all pretense of civility, assumption of innocence, due process, etc., and gone full-bore MDK(*) on nominees they disagree with.

A cold beer taste mighty fine after a hard fought win. And still some of you go looking for something to argue about?
I wouldn't call Manchin voting yes pandering. He should vote the way the people back home expect him to. I wish a few more of them understood that concept. Move him to the winners list.

I'm exceptionally grateful that Joe Biden isn't there groping the women. Maybe the Dems should go all #MeToo on Gropin' Joe.

Thank you.

Not for the Manchin note - or the list... Your first two sentences were exactly what I was thinking as I read through posts - and was gonna post similar sentiment (phrased different)...

It seems drama has no barrier. Instead of a time of celebration and unity - somehow it ends up being petty squabbles about trifling crap.

Let's sit back (for a moment) - and embrace what has happened... There will undoubtedly be more drama (within a week or less)... To force it here is stupid.

Part of me wants to blame CA social environment - but I'm not gonna go there, 'cause I recognize it's not "all" like that... But it mostly is.

When I left, I lost track... Too bad it couldn't delay until the tides turned.

Hindsight is 20/20 - but I had a feeling her interference would backfire... Not sure why it was pushed before it was a stacked deck (haste makes waste).

Oh, well - I'm good... I just hope the best for the rest.

BTW - "my" wish is - AZ finds a way out of the 9th... I don't know what it takes - but it's literally the only bummer about living here.

OK!

Let's take the rest of the Supreme Court Personnel Saga to OT, until such time as another replacement might be proposed.

While it's certainly clear that how a SCOTUS justice thinks and ultimately votes on some cases is/will be important for 2A rights, the actual replacement experience is neither about 2A nor guns.

There's a lot of other things it isn't about, but I'll forbear from that commentary; fine for OT, though.
