Hello, I made a contribution yesterday. Not sure if I'm supposed to post here, but I didn't see anything come through acknowledging the contribution - not that I want any acknowledgment other than that you got the money!

Also, when I made my contribution, I got a $5.95 shipping and handling fee??? Is that right? Again, don't really care about the extra $6, but just want to make sure that that's correct. I was actually going to contribute more, but just went with the "annual" contribution/membership.

Thanks for all the great help this forum provides. It's an absolutely fantastic resource for anyone interested in firearms in California.

I'm refunding all the shipping charges, something is entered wrong and we are working to fix it asap. It's only affecting certain transactions. Your ID should be gold however, please PM me your details

If the $6 goes to the forum, feel free to keep it :P Not sure its worth the time/hassle of refunding it. I just thought it was a weird change.

Hi Joe, I reset your account manually so your Contributor status shows.

We're having an odd glitch with paypal right now, it seems that the non-recurring Contributorships are being charged shipping but the recurring ones are not.

I think paypal sees a one time charge as a 'sale' to charge shipping on but the recurring ones are seen as ongoing payments so there is no shipping.

It's odd because both types are handled by the same template in vBulletin with the only difference being a 'Recurring' check box that is checked for recurring payments and unchecked for non-recurring payments.

Either way, your account is set up for the next year and we're working on the glitch!

Hello, I made a contribution on July 1 and was refunded the shipping charges already.

However, my user account doesn't seem to have been updated to CGN contributor. Just wondering if I missed a step?

I'm having the same problem. Manually renewed a week ago, was charged for shipping (wasn't too worried about it; figured it'd just be a little extra donation), got the refund, but it doesn't look like my account has been re-flagged.

Thanks in advance.

I'm a tad curious, are you both referring to Calguns.net(CGN) or The Calguns Foundation(CGF)?

CGN isn't set up for monthly payments and the annual should chage your title automatically.

Ah... The Calguns Foundation(CGF) I was not aware of the difference... In fact all the links are for CGF... I don't see any thing about donations to CGN

OK after pulling my head out of my rear I noticed the BIG donate to CGN by the log in at the top....

Arrg. No CC payment for CGN...Well I guess it will wait till I get PP money...

This is why I've been posting a welcome message on every "new here" to try and get the word out to newbs; I try in my signature to point out that there are two entities and donations do different things. So, please have a look at my signature block and offer (PM) any wording changes you think would make it more clear.

What is the deal with all of the new sub-nicknames listed under the user name? There used to be just a few, i.e. Senior, Junior, Veteran, etc. Now there's all kinds of random stuff. How do I get mine? HAHA
