I would have to agree with this list.
Honor guard, why not just get the Shield.
R51, why?
High Point, I wouldnt own one much less carry one.
Revolver, eh, there are much better choices for concealed carry, like the Shield for instance.

I’m ok with a few of their listed.

But why no revolvers? They’re simple to operate and if a malfunction occurs, just press trigger again.
While I don’t have a revolver on my permit, I believe it still fills a niche for those who struggle with grip, recoil (limp wrist), etc.

If I was still in CA and had to list what I carry on my license, it would include my Colt Detective which I carry AIWB. Revolvers still have their place for CCW.

He author dissed revolvers because of limited clip capacity. Sure sounds like a spray and pray type.

the 1999 outrage of 41 shots being fired at Amadou Diallo, (19 which hit) who was unarmed, was reaching for his wallet, and had done nothing wrong, still has repercussions today.

Anyone looking to create a hailstorm of bullets, some of which are killing babies in their houses, children on their doorsteps. had better understand the consequences of what they want to do.

Personally, I have had enough jams in semi autos not to trust their function or reliability as much as a revolver. And, I consistently read of negligent discharges, (the ones in the press are the ones where the owner shoots himself) with semi auto pistols. I am going to claim that you are more likely to shoot your self with a semi auto than to use it in self defense.

Revolvers are best for pocket carry, especially in a jacket pocket where you can shoot it if needed without even pulling it out.

Wow, looks like an article "written" by an AI that scraped a bunch of reviews, ran them through the English Chinese translator and back through the Chinese - English translator to create a page to use for clickbait ads or something.

SO MANY "ERRORS" and random statements of opinion as "fact" that you'd be better asking my dog for firearms advice (she prefers Rugers, but likes the Sig P238... and of course a nice bull "pup" rifle).

It seems to me that small semi autos jam for me more than full size ones that almost never do, especially shooting single or weak handed. I think it's tougher for me, with fairly big aging hands, to get a reliable good grip on them. I like revolvers when going small. The small single stacks designed for concealed carry don't have that much more capacity anyway.

I have never seen a compact 1911 that was as reliable as a full sized Government Model. What I have seen are compact 1911's that were jam o matics.

What? That is a flawed article because of its premise. I would think they would go for more guns which might be difficult or impractical to carry.

Anyone who specifically states clip capacity for a revolver or semi auto pistol is instantly dis-credited in my book. If the author can not distinguish the difference of a clip and removable magazine, their opinion at that point means nothing to me. I love it even more when people tell me it's an interchangeable term...

Get out of here! No you don’t. I’m not doubting you - just antagonizing you so you prove it with a pic.

Not that I want anyone to ever have to draw their carry gun, but I sure would like to see the look on some perp‘a face when a Desert Eagle gets drawn and pointed in his general direction.

Good on you friend. That’s amazing.

"...While the revolver models do have great damage capabilities, they do lack when it comes to the clip capacity. The revolver is also quite bulky and since your goal is to conceal the weapon as much as possible, you might have some troubles with this revolver..."

There is so much wrong with this.

My Glock 26 has been 100% reliable for over 2 decades. My Glock 34 is the same. The Glock 21, however, has been having problems jamming multiple times per magazine. Sometimes I have to clear malfunctions 2-3x per magazine on a run.

Those silly .410 shotgun/handguns would have to be at top of list. Then derringer type tiny guns.

I also agree with Michael Moore in comments to article. Most people never learn to shoot nor want to. A small revolver is going to work for them and safer for one who chooses not to train than semi auto. I have several 2in revolvers but carry Shield, G17,G22 and G34

I've carried a Derringer here and there when the weather was hot and it's better than nothing.

Yup, I just got my P380 worked out and it goes bang bang bang like a Chinese hooker lives next door to an ATM.

I guess I should sell my S&W 442/642 & 640 Pro models because they are too bulky to conceal and have...limited clips?

I have a kimber ultra carry 2 on my ccw. It’s the best shooting 3 inch gun I have shot. Super reliable and never jams. I would give it a 10/10. I also carry a p238 sig and it’s fantastic. I am not a huge fan of the .380 round but it shoots reliably and accurate. The worse of the 3 I have in my ccw is my g43. It’s still pretty good but not the quality of the others.

It's a first gen Baby Desert Eagle chambered in 40 S&W. I bought it in 1992/1993 when they first came out. I've got about 20k thru the barrel and it still goes bang every time and will feed any food I choose to feed it. When I bought it it was very unreliable and finicky on the ammo I used as the ramp is very steep.

After a quick trip to the gunsmith and had the barrel ramped and throated a bit, she eats anything like a cheap whore. Literally 1 failure to feed or go into battery since 1994. The most reliable gun I've ever seen.

That is why its on my CCW, I trust my life to this weapon. It will go bang every time regardless of how clean, dirty, hot or cold it is....

Basically it's a CZ-75. It is no different in size than my 1911 but it holds 12+1 in the pipe

Not in CA you don't have 12+1. It's for the children.

It came with (2) 12 round magazines and that's what I own. I purchased 2 extra magazines at time of purchase. I don't own any 10 round mags for this gun. They were factory equipped with 12 round magazines in 1992 which well pre-dated our lame *** law anyway.

I have had several officers check the gun our over the years when out shooting. Not 1 has ever questioned the magazine capacity. I didn't worry about 12 count mags before the honorable judge Benitez ruled against the unconstitutional laws in this state, and I won't worry about it if his ruling gets overturned.

Just as I won't pay Biden's or any other politicians extortion "tax" on property I currently own nor "sell back" something that they never owned. Enough is enough.

Tax $200 on every cell phone either made or sold, and $10 on every battery charger. See how many people like that idea

The revolver one is stupid. I carry glocks with 10-15 rounds but honestly I prefer small to midsize revolvers. 5-6 rounds of .357 can solve a lot of problems

Many of us carry j frame revolvers.
Last I heard, the 642 is S&W’s best seller.
I find myself carrying mine or the 640 pro more often than the Shield 9 mm.

I’ve even discovered AIWB carry in a Crossbreed QuikClip holster works really well for a j frame when I want my pocket free.

A revolver is the worst gun to carry because:

1. Clip capacity is severely limited.
2. This is 2021, not 1821!
3. It just ain't cool enough, and everyone knows a cool gun will win every gunfight. A revolver is like showing up to the starting line at Daytona in a Model T.
4. Your tacticool buddies will razz you mercilessly and suggest you wear a rapier on your other side to compliment it.
5. Heavily tatted-up douchebros only conceal carry SMGs - any pistol will leave you severely outgunned when you're doing your weekly Heat-style shootout with multiple armed felons who all are packing AR15s.
6. A DA-only revolver is incapable of making that cool "click-click" pistol cocking sound that every person knows means that you've got the drop on him and are ready to take him out. I mean, even a Glock makes that cool click-click noise, if movies and TV are to be believed.
7. The author of the article says they're garbage, so they must be!

Do you ever wonder if some writers of things. Are just ghost writing of things they have only read about...

Reminisent of 9mm vs 45 discussions.

I didn't finish the article because it was nonsensical ramblings. Just in the first few lines:
Honor Defense Honor Guard:
The photo is of a shield not an honor guard.
While this gun is a smaller version of the S&W Shield,
The dimensions of the honor guard are virtually the same as a Shield it's technically larger but you'd need a micrometer to tell.
many men consider it to be a small and easy to carry the handgun. The other problem is the wider design and this makes finding the perfect holster that much harder.
It's listed as a hundredth of an inch wider.
