airguns inside the house.
If you or your kids are going to shoot BB's indoors there is an extreme ricochet problem. Duct Seal ($3.30 a pound at lows will trap most BB's and pellets. Champion makes a heavy 22 trap that will serve for BB's and pellets too.
https://www.amazon.com/Champion-Trap...=champion+trap https://www.lowes.com/pd/Gardner-Ben...t-Seal/4595233 Dust Devils came out this year which are BBs that powder on a heavy target. Here's a link to Gaylord testing them, use the left arrow on top to link back and see part 1 and part 2. https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2018...il-bbs-part-1/ https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2018...il-bbs-part-2/ https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2018...il-bbs-part-3/ https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2018...devils-part-4/ regardless of what you think of any of the above you really should read (link directly above) the review of the dust devil BB's. They are new for 2018.

As Gaylord said, all Red Ryders ever made by Daisy have a teeny magnet in the breach to help hold the steel BB. this is why lead BB's won't work in that gun. Dust Devils are ferrous and the magnet will hold them properly.

basically, it's rubber mulch in a cardboard box, sealed with packaging tape...no more ricochets.

Now that's very interesting ^ .
Winchester used to make a bb gun target cube that worked, although it would shed stuffing out. But which could be prevented by just stapling a thick piece of cardboard on the back of the cube, the opposite from the side you were shooting. Sadly, discontinued... https://www.pyramydair.com/product-a...s_Pellets/4244

When I was a kid we would get a big appliance box (refrigerator, washer, etc.), flatten it out and prop it up against the fence outdoors. We would put targets in front of it and the cardboard would trap the BBs. We were shooting low power Daisy BB guns and the BBs would become embedded in the cardboard. We would dig out the BBs and reuse them. For us kids this cut down on the cost of BBs.

I've heard there are some issues with higher velocity lead pellets creating lead dust upon exiting the barrel. They certainly fragment pretty well when hitting steel as well. Probably okay at the mid to lower speeds but these 900+ fps rifles that I like are probably outdoor only. Just an FYI.
