I won a 0456BW so I joined the club. I'd tell you what I paid, but you'd cry. JK, but it was a good price. Used/pawned knife. We will see what turns up in the mail before I brag. Price I paid including shipping sounds like "ton-nifty". Hope I didn't join the Knock-off club Cause that knock-off is a $60 one. Looks legit in the pics to my eagle eyes though. |

I love some me some Sinkevich and that 0470 is just calling calling calling...
https://zt.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/zt0470 the colorized anodized crap is not my taste. BW looks mean though. BW stone washed is a nice USER finish too. |

0456BW with 0452 for scale... wow. In pictures this knife didn't look this cool. Action and ergos are amazing. Great detent, beefy tank. Love it. Top5 ZT's... honestly thought it was not a cool looking Sinkevich... apparently he can do more than just 0452/0450 style - this blade is great. Probably #1 to play with... we'll see how it does in the pocket. Last edited by crufflers; 11-24-2018 at 1:48 PM.. |

I feel that way about Contegos or Presidios too, but there are not as many Benchmades IMHO. |

This is just ONE thing but there are many. If you actually have to use a knife even at home to do something like cut bunch of cardboard, the good steel will stay sharp to finish the task.

I actually purchased this knife many years ago, however I just re acquired it. My brother had it and just gave it back to me. New in the box never used. Benchmade Skirmish 630

My experience with cutting card board is that paper is one of the fastest ways to dull a knife edge.
For that reason I use a folding utility knife. Changing the blade is faster than having to stop and sharpen the edge of a knife. To each their own. . Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Of course I have utility knives for carpet, etc... but I don't have one in my pocket and the $1 variety are not ideal. A quickly replaceable or scored blade is much better for grinding into concrete. Rounded tips are not quick to repair. If you always carry a X-acto or steel utility, great. I only have them in the kitchen and in the garage. Even still, I use a MORA to cut boxes usually. When it drags I use a worksharp to get it shaving again in a couple minutes. FWIW, brand new MORAS are much sharper than a Harbor Freight utility knife. I have a bunch of both. MORA's do cost 12x more, hahah.
YMMV. |

It's going down for real over here. Kitchen knives need a heavy sharpening.

Yeah some of the new ones like the Sinkevich/Rexford without a flipper and that Emerson without Wave are easy passes.

On the topic of harpoon shapes, I almost bought one of these WE knives to try the brand:
https://www.bladehq.com/item--WE-Kni...Flipper--51704 $95 seems a steal when you look it over and see all the features you are getting (nice clip, G10, D2, all that gimping and detail). I decided to go with tried a and true ZT though... Rather spend $170 on a sure winner than dump $95 even though the WE is probably nice. Even a weak detent would be a deal killer for me. That 0055 shape with machining on the milled out titanium is really unique in a large blade and with the Cecchini SLT flipper - could not resist. |

Maybe I will look for something else with that CF in the future. Just got the 0055 and did pull the trigger on a WE 617 black blade with green G10 when I saw them hit $82 shipped... that's a hell of a lot of knife for $80... ceramic bearings, etc... interested to see how they are. That's one of the budget knives that scares the hell out of USA manufacturers like Benchmade IMHO... and will be good for consumers. |

Did read that the Ti clip mine came with is popular and the stock one supposedly creates a hot spot which it corrects, but have only used the Ti one. Only thing I did was loctite it and tighten it. Glad it was included though as it looks like these cost $45 - $149 shipped for the new condition knife was a deal. Did come from a pawn shop in FL so who knows the history. The Ti is bronze colored which KIND OF matches the BW. At least a decent contrast. https://mxggear.com/products/custom-...nt=23669258755 |

I got my BHQ order... pretty fast. Geeesh the 0055 is a beautiful machine. Kind of reminds me of a 2-stage trigger where you are taking up the slack to find the wall and fire. Strong detent makes it fun.
Comparo with some other ZT's - it is pretty big |

Definitely check it out in person and handle it before you pay to ruin the makers intended design. IMHO, it is about as multi-dimensional as you can get in person. Many unique angles and 3D milling from any angle even the lock bar side is interesting with the flipper tab's nested design into the lockbar, etc... one of the most interesting ZT's IMHO. Definitely adds color, but I prefer the ano where the entire scale is tinted rather than racing stripes. I have seen that guy's modded stuff on EBAY. Definitely makes something look custom to have the Ti side of a CF framelock colorized.

Wow, the 0900 is a unique size. The Talon is cool. I had a black blade 0566CF and it was a great size to carry anytime, pretty slim but not very grippy. Flipper kind of bugged me, maybe needed gimping and not a soft opener like a 0350. Overall probably my favorite assisted opener.

Been on a little bit of a binge....
So I picked up this oak machinist's tool box to store/secure my knives in. Vintage 1940's construction. Liong Mah Warrior 2 & Kizer Shoal. I'm REALLY liking both, but the Shoal is exceptionally impressive given its price-point. Beautiful to look at, hold & flip. Next up is by far my favorite flipper: Boker Kwaiken x2. Both have marble CF scales. The duplex blade on top is the smoothest & fastest flipper I've ever felt. A true pleasure to manipulate. Next up are my new Kershaws. 2 Leeks & a Natrix in copper. Nice little blades. Last (so far) is my SpyderCo Para2 w/ linen micarta scales & my Kizer Splinter. The SpyderCo is a beast. The Splinter is an exceptional flipper at its price-point & is a pleasure to fondle.
