My father in law gifted me his 30-06 on Christmas.He had it built for him in 1964 while stationed at the Ramstein AFB in Germany .The gun was $60.50, the block of walnut $15.00 and the recoil pad $1.95 for a grand total of $77.45!
I have the original receipt as well.The barrel is stamped with several letters and crowns,says chrome vanadium steel and made in Belgium. Now I just have to get it sighted in and find a place to hunt elk with it.
