Default Replacing 870 Ejector

So I gotta replace the ejector. How the hell are the rivets held into the left hand side of the receiver if they aren't holes that go all the way through? I use the brownells rivet tool/endmillthingmajig and got the most forward rivet cut enough where the ejector spring can come off. Now what about the most rearward rivet?

Unfortunately, I've already watched all those videos none of them actually showed what I'm asking.

Found out today while drilling out the rivets from the inside. The rivets can only be punched out from the inside to the outside. You only need to drill the majority of the material on the rivet from the inside until it touches the ejector. The rivet is soft enough once you get that part you just punch it out from the inside to the outside. Any drilling trying to go all the way through will be fruitless. The rivet will just turn and turn in the recessed pocket from the outside. Didn't notice that until I took the receiver off the vice . Good thing the outside of the receiver was painted or I would have never notice.

How hard was it to fix. I’m stuck between fixing the ejector or just selling the receiver.

Easy fix, if you got the tools from Brownells. You don't need the deluxe kit if you have to replace the ejector. The ejector spring rivet cutter's main use is if your ejector is still good and the ejector spring broke. And you are trying to clean out the very top of the rivet that gets deformed to hold the spring so you can reuse the old front rivet that's still in place. If it cuts off too much material and there isn't enough material left to repeen. You will end up having to replace the front rivet anyways.

Not a difficult fix at all, and a satisfying project to complete for folks who want to learn. The only negative to doing it is cosmetic, as the outside won't match the receiver. But that doesn't bother me at all.
I've done a few of em.
