Default CCW Placer county permit question.

Hello Calgunners,

I just got my CCW permit from Placer county. The permit by itself is a piece of paper 4x5 inch. It is not a size of credit card and has section "A" and section "B".

Here is my question. Can I make a copy, laminate and fold it, or would you please advise me how you do carry your permit and how you keep it in your wallet?

Thank you and have a great day!

You can fold and laminate it, but you need to carry the original. You'll want a larger wallet that will hold it.

Walmart has a George Jumbo Billfold Wallet that works. You might also check Kohl's - they have had a couple that worked in the past.

Laminated and folded is the best solution I have found.

The Big Skinny Hybrid Tri-Fold had a slot that would hold my San Diego issued permit...but just barely.

On my new permit I'm not messing with having it laminated. I just folded it and tucked it in behind my drivers license. They're only good for two years anyway so it really doesn't have to last that long. And if, by chance, my wallet ends up going swimming, I'll just get a new one from the local constabulary. YMMV.

Let's all say a quiet little prayer to the CCW Gods, in the hopes that the idiots in Sacramento will approve the use of real cards soon.

I laminate and then fold the original. Aren't supposed to make copies.

OK, I found the way which works for me.

I just got a passport size wallet, laminated my CCW permit, and it fits very well without any folding crease.

You also need to make a copy of the conditions on the back and keep that as a separate card.

I just got a new cert from PCSO after a mod, and noticed they are now shrinking the size of the license down, which was handy. After you trim away the blank area all around the card, just fold it and laminate it.

PS - it only took 3 days to have the new permit in hand after qualifying with the new gun.

My ELDO county permit, folded and laminated (trimmed very close to edges) is only 1/4 in taller than a business card, and 1/8 longer than one. Easily fits in a "Non-Constanza" wallet.
