Very nice! I love mine. I probably have close to 10,000 rounds through it, and it has been flawless.

You can also find the paratrooper stocks for ~$250-300. I picked one up just to have.

So awesome to see someone else with one! I got mine about 2 years ago and I still love it. It always turns heads at the range. In fact, I think the range staff has probably put more rounds through than I have.

Yup. Sent mine back and they did the fix and returned it pretty quick. I noticed FN is no longer selling/making M249 semi's and everyone is out of stock. A guy who talked to his FN rep said they may make some more in Sept. Total of number produced and sold was 3,000.

Very nice, love mine. These are getting really hard to find. I run an aimpoint on mine and the regular stock, not the paratrooper, because the regular stock is better.

Paratrooper stock looks BA though, kinda like the HK A3 collapsible on a 91. Looks great but fixed stock is so much nicer to shoot with.

Neil, not sure if you’ve fired yours much with the magazine, but being you’re in ca, I assume that’s a freedom week surefire mag that you’d probably like to keep in decent shape. If that’s the case, just know that 249’s, both military f/a and our civilian semi autos, tend to destroy magazines by eating away at the feedlips on the rear of the magazine. I have several usgi 30’s that are dedicated to saw use only because of this. If it gets bad i pitch it in the garbage. Not optimal if you are in a state that restricts purchasing new ones. Just thought i’d share.

You can, just need to make it pinned if you install it on the rifle.

OP, here’s the areas where the 249 munches on magazines. Both FA and SA versions do it. FA versions don’t always run that well on mags because the gun can out run the magazines ability to feed ammo quick enough. Has never been a problem for me with semi auto though.

Mine was. I returned it last year and got it back a month later. No noticeable difference in the trigger to me. They supposedly fixed whatever they were concerned about. Dropped off at fedex center at the airport, and they delivered it to my house. I had thrown away the original heavy cardboard shipping box these come in so i first had to have FN ship me an empty box.

FN uses their own proprietary trigger. Machine Gun Armory (MGA) uses a HK Lower and trigger pack for their M249s.

Wonder if that means you can make it go rat-a-tat-tat with a registered sear pack.

This thread needs a bump. 500 rounds through mine yesterday, then a tear down, cleaning, and relinking session.

So the rumor is (heard from a pretty well informed guy who used to own a FA range in Nevada), the ATF said no more SAW's from FN anymore due to the fact that these rifles were way to easy to convert to evilness. So if you got one keep em forever.

My fear with the “recall” was that it was going to be a back door confiscation/reimbursement. I waited quite a while and let others test the waters first before I sent mine in. FN isn’t gonna make these forever either way. The military is moving away from the saw, and these use all the same components with some added stuff to be semi auto. These will never go down in value.
