Default Having a safe moved within Bay Area

Anyone have any tips or suggestions?

It?s already on a pallet. In theory I could get a lift gate truck and pallet Jack and do it myself but I?m a bit concerned about my driveway, rolling it up on the lift gate, and then I?d like someone to take it off the pallet at the new spot.

Thanks

If you are looking for a shop, try https://securitysafeusa.com/
It really depends on the size and weight of the safe you are moving, if its all on the ground floor and if you have some of the equipment to move it yourself. If it's a 4000 lb safe, no way would I attempt that. Up to 2000 lbs, 2 people with some equipment can do it. Google some youtube videos to show you how.

It?s a 1500lb safe. It?s in a garage to another garage. Not too bad in that regard.

I?ve seen toutube videos about getting it off the pallet but really don?t want the liability and I?d rather just have some pros do it.

I?ll check out the link you sent.

A 1500 lb safe is not much. Depending were its going, ball park est. around $800 is my guess.

Liberty safes in San Jose is a place I would trust…. Yes there may be cheaper more sketchy places on Craigslist OfferUp but I would rather pay extra and make sure they do not set you up for future robbery

I used Security Safe out of Hayward twice with good results. Last time was in 2017 so I can't testify to what work they are doing now, the work they did was reasonably priced and quality.

Hmmm.... Liberty Safe pretty much burned their bridge with Patriot Americans when they released an owner's combination to the FBI with nairly a second thought and absent sufficient court order. Of course, like InBev and Bud Lite, Liberty has felt a backlash that impacts the bottom line and has limp-wristily put in place a corrective action, but it's not good enough or soon enough.

There are better options than Liberty. DIY is an option if the safe is <1200# and you have a pickup and don't need to maneuver complicated stairs.

IMO, another zero or two need to come off the Liberty bottom line before we will see true remorse.

I used security safe as suggested and they were amazing.

Really good at what they do, friendly, and understanding. Can?t recommend them more. Really made the whole process easy and low stress.

Did you just confuse "liberty safe" the small business, with "liberty safe" the safe manufacturer that followed all the same steps that any other safe manufacturer would follow, just so you could slip in an unsolicited rant?

ok guy. i bet you're fun at parties.

Good to know they are still giving good service.

If you do not mind, can you post what the move costs now? You can pm me if you like. Just curious what they charge now. I know there are a bunch of factors to determine price, but most have a minimum to do this.

While I believe there is some separation (I don?t know if they?re related at all)between Liberty Mfg and the retail store(s) named Liberty, Liberty the Mfg did NOT exercise full scrutiny. They even came out after the hullabaloo with a policy adhering to greater scrutiny.

The store has been good in my book. They charged me $350 to move a safe half that way a short distance through the house and into my garage awaiting trailer. A minimum fee is what I presume.

Give ?em.a call. They?ll ask the pertinent questions and offer you a price.

I would find some kind of old box, like one for a refrigerator, and cover the safe with it. Nobody needs to know anything about a safe being relocated to a new spot. Discretion is critical.
