Default Range Officially Re-Open

The range has officially reopened to the public for Wednesday and Friday night. Monday nights are being used by local police and law enforcement through the end of the year for new recruit training (with crime rising, we need more law enforcement officers).

NEW INFO
  • Range fees are now $20/hr + processing fee. Discounts for multiple sessions.
  • Use the RESERVATION button on our home page and range rules page https://coyotepointrpc.org/
  • 100% of the Reservation fees go to San Mateo County (none of it goes to the club which has to pay rent on top of having to volunteer as your RSO's.)
  • All shooters must use range targets, placed by RSO's. To maximize shooting time, there is no patching of targets. Shooters may ask for a fresh targets each cease-fire period.
  • Shooters should bring their own spotting scopes. Shooters may ask to see their targets using the range's new HD downrange camera system.
  • As before, all shooting is done at 100yrds, so rifles only.

This info copied from the coyotepointrpc.org website:

Went there couple weeks ago, very nice facility, I like the wide new shooting benches, the lights shinning on the targets at 100 yards made it easy to see tiny 22lr holes through my scope. Hope they open up more days for the public.

The SF Bay Area has some pretty slim pickings.

Thanks for this informative post here and the professionally done and enjoyable YouTube video, ( Just like all of your YouTube videos) Moondog!

And I just want to repeat an important ending part of it because I also think $20 an hour is steep.
(But if you watch the short video, it is a nice looking range with some new high-tech features when many places in California wouldn't even consider a range open to the public.)

" All of that $20 an hour money goes to the County of San Mateo."

And

" All of the Coyote point range officers are volunteers. "

(So don't tell them red is not their color or mention the whole Star Trek red uniform coincidental tragedies Theory.)
