Default DOJ checking compliance

Just talked to my cousin who works at Turner's Outdoorsman in west covina. He said a bunch of DOJ thugs went to his store in force today. They were apparently looking for some guy that was trying to PPT some guns. While they were there they told the staff that they are now combing the ranges checking for compliance now that all these mags are flowing in. They said if anyone is caught putting a SCM into a maglocked gun they are going to the slammer and prosecuted.

Take this for what it's worth. Just thought I'd pass this info along.

Bolt Action.

http://www.jlbillet.com/kalikey

If you are in a free state - simply swap out your KaliKey bolt for a standard bolt and charging handle and you are semi-auto again.

So put the factory non-semi auto upper back on? No thanks.

Semiauto with Kingpin and Armaglock gen2 is night and day better than manually operating an AR.

Try both youíll see what Iím talking about. Manually cycling an AR BLOWS!

And registering as an AW was not an option...no time machine.

Was it necessary to send in all those agents to see if someone was inside a store. Sounds like a B.S. explanation for intimidation tactics

Not really.
LCM is anything over 10.
SCM is 20 for an AR, 7 for a 1911, 6 for a lot of 380s....

The legal term is LCM, particularly when in reference to maglocked semiautomatic rifles.

I don't understand how someone would NOT know this. It was law before the mag ban was struck down and it remains law after the mag ban was struck down.

Seems pretty hypocritical.

SF demanded, "Stay out of our bedrooms and allow us to put it in what we want" and Sacramento granted their demands.

Maybe we should do the same and demand, "Stay out of our gun ranges and allow us to put it in what we want" ???

Still looking for a difference between the government and the mafia. That kind of intimidation just a different form of organized crime.

The mafia does not have a pension and benefits anywhere near like the state.
Also, the mafia will fire/kill you, the state never fires you.

Man, the state canít even keep up with convicted felons that still have guns registered to them. The mafia is cold, efficient and ruthless. State employees have pensions and 40 hour work weeks. Iíll take my chances with incompetent bureaucrats.

What about all the prohibited persons with 80 percent builds?? Hell, you can make a Glock with a dremel these days. Government is trying to give the illusion they have control over whatís going on, itís a free for all at this point with the 80 percent builds and now standard capacity mags.

Yeah. Itís telling that they are devoting resources to troll legal businesses and spend time visiting people that made mistakes on registration rather than going after prohibited possessors. Also because thereís no risk in going after otherwise law abiding people.

But who is it that is sending gangs of brainwashed goons in body armor to people's homes and demanding to see that AR you just registered in good faith to comply with the law but, has a screw in the wrong place in the picture you sent them?

Was not there something about CA DOJ firearms bureau not able to hire enough agents because the salary was not competitive? So incompetent agents running around thinking they can do anything and looking like the guys on Cops. Not that worried.

I also grew up hearing my parents describe how the ATF agents behaved in the local treasury office ahead of a raid. I'd be more worried about ADs when they show up at your door.

Yeah, that sounds like an ideal case to get the AW laws tossed out.

What if they catch a guy with a featureless rifle but who is running an old school BB? Are the DOJ agents going to be swift enough to realize that isn't an illegal configuration? Arrest him and maybe he has a "1983" case...?

FUD works both ways.

Seems to me that they've given up on any confiscation of "LCMs" in this state, even if the PC is currently dead per a Federal judge's order.

DOJ flexing but they have no way to police every single range and every single shooter at all times. Typical DOJ intimidation tactics.

As soon as he said "Turner's West Covina" the BS flag went up.
I've heard more FUD from that store than I've heard from non-California residents pontificating about CA law.

This sounds like total BS to me, how on earth is DOJ going to have enough man power to do this? And some shooting ranges are members only too, they can't even get in unless someone let them in.

The only time I know about DOJ showing up at the gun club I go to, is to perform inspection of our FFL office (our club is also a FFL).

Ever think that as a condition of holding a federal firearms license, and not knowing what is needed to operated a private members only gun range, the range may have consented to warrantless DOJ inspections?

Update: After checking in his firearm with 15 individuals at the service desk, waiting 4 hours for his number to be called in the bait/tackle department, signing 317 DROS forms, initialing 866 affidavits, standing in 12 different lines, speaking with 16 different employees (including 3 different managers), submitting 22 forms of ID, and helping the 16-yo cashier find her red stamp...the man finally abandoned the PPT and turned himself in to the authorities where he asked for a Pysych Eval.

Turners broke him.
