9/22 interview
-requested better GC, posted same day
-livescan same day
9/30 livescan passed on all three

No call or email yet, should I give them a ring asking if there is anything else on my end that may be needed? Or should I just wait it out?

I interviewed in Palm Desert on 9/15, and did my livescan there the same day. Not sure how to check the status, but I havenít heard back yet either.

On your livescan sheet there should be an application number (ATI) use that
And your DOB on this website here to check your status.

I did my livescan at the Sheriffs dept, and never got a sheet or any piece of paper with that information.

I also did mine at the sheriffs station, a door down from the investigators office. They gave me a paper with proof for my records. Strange you didnít get one, you can try calling and asking for your livescan ATI.

No, I havenít called. When I did my interview, the interviewer said ďdo not call. If you want to get a hold of me, the best way is to email.Ē I did that a week ago, and havenít heard back. I may try to call in the next couple days or so.

For those of you who have gotten your ccw: How were you contacted to let you know the results after your interview? Phone call, email, other?

Thanks

All communications from the BI were by email in my case. My advice is to be patient, I know it's not easy to wait, but they are working on 100's of renewals, modifications, and initial applications, they will get to you! When you least expect it; most likely!

Curious about the livescan. Do you have to call or email to schedule it for the same day as interview or do they automatically do it? If so who do i contact to schedule? Thanks!

I guess I got lucky because my investigator said they were doing livescans that day and they usually don’t. He asked if I was interested in getting it done now. Only cost $10 at the sheriffs station. There are many other places where you can get it scheduled but only the LE offices are that cheap. Places like postal annex will charge an arm and a leg.

Call your local sheriffs office or where ever your appointment is at and ask about livescan appointment.
You could specifically ask for someone who does the livescan/ finger prints.

I did my livescan at the Sheriffs station on the day of my interview. As previous mentioned, itís only $10 to do it at RSO. Be sure to bring a check or money order though. They donít accept cash or cards.

I had mine done a couple of weeks ago and I had to schedule it myself. Just pick a station from the attached approved list and call them to schedule an appointment. Then take the Live Scan form given at the interview to them to have your fingerprints taken. I did mine at:

Riverside County Sheriff’s Department
Sheriff’s Admin - 5th floor
4095 Lemon St.
Riverside, CA 92501
(951) 955-2440

Just curious if anyone from (east of the county) who did renewals recently, did you still have to pickup at Ben Clark or will it now be handled in Palm Desert?

Does riverside allow you to swap barrels, like between .40S&W to .357SIG?

In Riverside it's a no go. The caliber must match with DOJ records. I have a P229 that was bought as 357Sig. I qualified and tried to list it as 40S&W and I could not.

WTF....your original statement was sufficient to qualify your Good Cause. What does the rest of it matter?

Completely insane.

Yeah, my investigator just told me to take out one of mine and re-upload it once I did. I did that as soon as I got home from my interview.

Just to be clear, you can’t carry without physical possession of your permit?

Assuming your asking if you've been approved to carry but your permit hadn't arrived.

Then yes, you have to wait until it's in hand. You are not permitted to carry concealed otherwise.

alright, went back a few pages and I still have a (stupid) question.
my permit is expiring in March.
website says start 180 days out but then also on the CCW site it says not to start until you're 90 days out.

/confused.

180 days is a result of delays because of COVID-19. I'd go with the 180 days until they remove that notice.

Just curious, does Riverside allow for stippling if it is done by a professional?

Start now. Appointment bookings for the interview are 5 - 6 months out. Openings do pop up if you keep looking and they say they will try to work you in if it gets tight.

Checking the site daily around 8:30 a.m. got me a rescheduled date in December when only April was available initially...

They approved mine. Deputy that did my weapons inspection squeezed the grip by the sides. He said he was checking for any give/weakness that would show too much material had been removed.

Not that I know of. What the pistol is registered with you must carry that caliber. If you have a g23 on 40sw thats registered to in that caliber you cannot swap a 9mm barrel and carry it. I had this issue with my 1911 that was registered as a 38super but I swapped it to a 9mm and they did not allow me to qual or carry with it as a 9mm. Hope this helps.

On paper, Iím redonkulously precise with .357 sig, it could be just mental but when I bring my target back the groups are astounding.

That said, .40 is a perfectly serviceable SD round and more than likely my EDC will be the little .380 simply because it is so comfortable I have a hybrid IWB. Leather on me, kydex on the gun.
