Default 1950s S&W .32 revolver

I picked up this used excellent condition 1950s SW .32 Long revolver on Monday. The seller got it from his uncle who was a corrections officer in the 50s and 60s and carried it instead of his issue .38 special M&P revolver due to weight and size.

It is a mini Model 10 in appearance and size. Single action is light and crisp and accuracy is great, although it shoots low with my reloads.

The grips are numbered for a revolver 20 ahead of this one.

What about the brutal recoil of a 32 S&W Long cartridge? What if you fire it without earplugs? You will be deaf for life. Have you considered the over-penetration of every single apartment wall in America? You need new rubber grips made in china. You need to sara-coat it, mill the heck out of top strap so you can mount a aimpoint. Will it shoot .32 Plus P? Being that old you know you need all new springs.

Or you could keep it factory stock and just shoot it for fun.

Fun! What am I saying?

1950's Smiths are "beautiful inside and out," using the vernacular of my teenage daughter, lol.

Sweet S&W!

you can adjust the impact of your rounds on target by playing with the the velocity of your reloads.

Lower velocity will yield a higher hit on your target.

Really nice. I would have done the same because the K Frame is a bit too large for my hands. And then later switched to the J frame when the I frame went away.

I have a worse one. Trade straight up?
Seriously, that is a beautiful revolver and a wonderful addition to your collection. Congratulations.

Here's mine, circa 1922. Acquiring it required finding ammo, which led to buying two other .32 revolvers, including a Charter Arms snubby and a Ruger LCR .327 magnum. It is a disease. But all are very sweet shooters.

that model didn't make it to the number model designation.

.32 Regulation Police.

the old school names are better than the numbers, imo

To date I have avoided buying any of the I frame Smiths due to not want to go down another collecting rabbit hole.

Right now the only .32 S&W that I really, really want is a K32 Masterpiece to go with my K22 and K38 Masterpieces'.

But, if I had seen that clean little .32, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

Very nice revolver you got there. This is mine. My Dad bought it for my Mom, because he was out to sea a lot. He bought it around my birth year 1956.

The back of the grips are dinged up. He did prisoner transport so maybe it rode beside him? That was the story, but I bought the gun!
