Default Judge blocks New Jersey from banning guns in more 'sensitive locations'

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/jud...tive-locations

"A federal judge blocked more portions of New Jersey's new gun control law on Monday, just three weeks after she blocked other parts of the law that she determined contain "considerable constitutional problems."

The new temporary restraining order from U.S. District Court Judge Renee Marie Bumb, a George W. Bush appointee, lifts the restriction on permitted gun owners from carrying concealed weapons in public parks, on beaches and in casinos. In a previous order, Bumb blocked parts of the law that prohibit guns from being carried in "sensitive locations," including public libraries, museums, entertainment venues like stadiums, arenas and amusement parks, bars, restaurants where alcohol is served, public parks, beaches, playgrounds, and airports and public transportation hubs."

We owe it all to TRUMP.

Imagine the decisions we’d be getting if Hillary had won in 2016 and gotten 3 justices on SCOTUS to decide NYSRPA v Bruen….

Good news … but what is the likelihood of the 3rd Circuit of Appeals following in the footsteps of the 2nd Circuit (i.e., issuing a stay without any legal analysis or justification)? Or perhaps this case hasn’t advanced that far that an appeal to the 3rd Circuit is ripe? It would be very interesting to see a circuit split between the 2nd and 3rd circuits, literally on either side of the Hudson River.

Bad news for Newsolini and Excremento. Their plans are identical, block CCW holders from anywhere in public to stop that right.

Newscum and his cronies in the state legislature don’t care about rights or the Constitution … they have the 9th circuit in their corner to pass any unconstitutional law that they want without any evidence of effectivity and any tiny veil of “state interest”. They bank on it being tied up in the courts for a decade with the 9th Circuit giving them air cover.

I agree with you that the 9th will play along, but I can't see this going on for that long since SCOTUS has strongly indicated they will intervene on Nigrelli if the 2nd circuit doesn't follow Bruen. They will do the same with Ca. when the time comes.

I'm surprised NJ hasn't appealed yet. Are there more issues before this judge? They may be waiting for everything to be decided on the PI before appealing. Then again, unless they want delay (which of course they do), they could just wait until after trial and judgment on the permanent injunction before appealing.
