Hello, I live in South Gate, Los Angeles County I’m trying to ship a Rifle up North. FedEx insisted they won’t ship ground and want over $200 to ship next day air. UPS insist I have to go through a licensed FFL. I’m getting different stories from everyone I talk too. The few gun shops in the area I called won’t ship, only receive. Can anyone tell me of a FFL that we’ll ship this rifle at a reasonable rate near me? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Have you tried shipmygun.com? They advertise $29 for a longgun.

I just shipped a rifle to a FFL in Oregon two weeks ago via Federal Express ground. My Federal Express center cheerfully accepts rifles for shipment via ground.

Thanks for the website “shipmygun”. I just filled out the information and they will be sending me back a shipping label with information on where to drop off the rifle. $33 to ship is good. This whole thing is strange. As people know, FedEx is vet-owned and 2A friendly and as such, they discounted gun shipments. Then not long back, pink-hat-topped protesters gathered outside FedEx and the company caved, removing the discounts but still allowing shipments. If an individual office refused service (or ground service) I would have called the HQ for help because as I know they did not stop ground or other service for guns.

Rifles can go ground. I believe handguns must go by air. Both UPS and Fed-Ex will accept shipments from an individual going to a FFL dealer.

Reading their pages brings up new questions because they dont specify that FFL-03 is an eligible shipper, or when an 03 is shipping to another 03. I doubt that calling them would clarify that because to nearly everyone, an "FFL" is a licensed gun shop which FedEx mentions on their site. And what about an individual shipping their defective gun back to the factory--- and receiving it straight back without it having to be shipped to an FFL first? And milsurp straight to your door? (I admit I havent kept up on what shipping companies are actually doing no matter what the law says.)

What FFL service do you need? PPT is fixed cost (by statute, but check with the FFL), other services (out of state transfer, ammo transfer, etc.) can vary a lot.

Anyone know of an FFL in the SAC area that knows how to deal with CMP transfers? The FFL I'm working with doesn't like sending a copy of their license to the CMP before having a copy of the sales invoice. But the CMP can't generate an invoice until they have a copy of the FLL license.
