Default Do they let you use air rifles in .22 matches?

It seems like you'd have a big advantage with this rifle.

NRL22 has an Air Gun category. Air Rifles are gaining more traction in the realm of precision these past few years. The FX Panthera has been out for several months now IIRC, and the whole reason they designed it is for NRL22. So yes, to answer your question you can use this in NRL22 matches.

Cool. So far I have been afraid to look up the price.

The idea that you only have to pay for the projectile is very appealing. No primer, no powder, just air.

Now, if only they had .22 matches nearby...

I think the Panthera is just under $2K. Still cheaper than the optic.

Here's a more interesting video, IMO:

I feel incredibly confident in saying I will NEVER spend 2 grand on an optic.

Optic? Or airgun?

The optic used on the airgun in the last vid only costs about $850. The FX Impact M3 he was using costs around $2,000.

I think both guns in both vids were using the same 5-26x56 Athlon Midas optic. So they're both using around an $800 and change optic.

Many make it sound like it's cheap to own and shoot a PCP air gun, but it's really not. I just bought a FX Impact M3 Sniper and with accessories, it's right about 5K. Sure some of that accessories would be the same with any other gun.

As compared to shooting a regular 22, I think a 22 is cheaper to shoot in general. As a comparison, 25.3gr pellets, 350 count is $20-25, slugs are even more expensive in packages of 50 and 100 (depending on weight). Unless you have your own air compressor, 4500psi, air is not free.

Air guns are great and fun to shoot. There's no recoil (.25 cal or smaller) and quiet, but not as cheap as some make it out to be. The best thing about air guns is no restrictions, background checks, or wait time, and they are accurate. Walk in to any store, buy and start having fun.

If I have to pay for air, I'm out. Not getting one.

Well what is cheap these days anyhow?

A while back I bought a marauder that was on sale and came with free pump, think i spent 650 or so and then 200 on a hawke scope. The deal breaker for me on PCPs was always having to buy and store a pump. When the free pump deal came around, thats when i grabbed it. I already had a bunch of tins of pellets from when i bought my break barrel so I convinced myself I would basically be shooting it for free

For PCP air gun, the idea of hand pumping 300 to 1200 (depending on tank size) times is not something I want to think about. Might as well pay $200-$300 and get a portable 12v DC and/or 110v AC compressor.

I chose to pay $800 for big carbon fiber tank with lifetime refill (clean filtered dry air). I paid good money for a very good PCP, the last thing I want to do is introduce moisture to the air gun's internal parts by using a cheap compressor.

It isn't the compressor, its the dryer that you need for dry air.

The air is free at standard atmosphere pressure.
Airguns requires the air to be compressed quite a lot more than standard atmosphere pressure.
You can compress it yourself with one of these:

Or one of these if you don't want to manually pump:
