Default Walmart in Mountian View not currently selling ammo

Hi. Just a quick PSA for bay area shooters.

I usually buy 9mm range ammo at Mountain View Walmart because of their really great prices.

Went there this morning to stock up for the weekend shooting. They were fully stocked, but with signs saying "Sorry. No Ammo Sales". Something to do with their permit or system, I didn't really understand what the clerk was telling me. He did say to call ahead if you are heading there to buy ammo.

I thought that the new background check system wasn't starting until July.

Anyway, just a heads up for SFbay/Peninsula people.

You might want to check out Eddy's Shooting Sports in Mountain View; they may still have 9mm ammo at great prices.

Eddy’s has lots of brand name 9 mm for $10 a box. I bought .357 and .38 today after a failed stop at Walmart.

Had a talk with the Turners guys and they will be opening a Store in Peninsula after all.
Also check with Big 5. Both have great Ammo sales each week. Sign up to their email
notification.

That's interesting. Turner's is giving it another go after the San Carlos disaster. Good luck to them. If they can do it that will bring some welcome ammo options besides Big 5 & Dick's since there's no Walmarts on the Peninsula.

Did they say what city? Hopefully they have great grand opening sales like they had for the Sacramento stores.

I was in Walmart, on McKinley Street, Corona today, picking up ammo for the weekend (can never have too much) and there was sign up say they would not sell ammo July 1st through July 7th. Clerk, who usually runs the ammo counter, said they would be setting up there new background check system during this time period. She also told me ammo is one their good money makers and they restock several times a day. From what i observe, I would certainly agree with her.
