I'm 100% in support of the project and dissemination of information, just temper your expectations. I don't know if you have any experience with 3d printing, but for anyone who doesn't: I've been printing for a couple of years. A 3d printed AR lower will take around 100+ hours and *may* fail at any time in that process. You'd be much farther ahead buying an 80% polymer lower and finish it in under 20 minutes. You could do the same with metal, but if you're ok with a plastic lower then polymer should suit just fine.

If you mean the Stratasys one that they printed a 1911 with, it's closer to $300k. $100k is what they'd have to sell the gun for to make it economical, they only did it as a proof-of-concept to demonstrate the tech.
