I have a few .45acp.
The last one I would get rid of would be my Dan Wesson CBOB. Love that gun. Bought it with some Knicks for $875, a little Flitz thing looks great

Difficult but I would lean towards P227 Tacops. FNX 45 is slightly behind

A reliable, broken in 1911. For me, hands down the Sig 1911 TacOps.

But my beautiful 1911 was so butt-ugly with them installed that I couldn't bear to keep them, and I put on a nice set of cocobolo grips instead, and my pistol once again looked... proper and classic.

You've got the best of both worlds there, nice wood on the sides with the rubber finger grooves in front. Who makes those? Is that a Colt emblem I see?

I think you took his bait whole. I noticed it too, then realized it was an HK, and remembered that old, classic ad.

Lol! And I had some good one-liners ready to go with it too...

While I already cast my vote for the usp, I would not have done so a couple years ago. I liked Sigs P220 since the E2 grip kit came out and my full sized V1 hk USP 45 sat dormant.

Recently I picked up a USP 45 compact. After I got the compact, I put a 5 - 6 detent plate in the full size usp to go safety only. That plus a match trigger changed the whole feel and I really started using and enjoying it more. Definitely my favorite for the range.

The USP 45 compact now with lem trigger, has fully replaced that old p220 for anytime I want to carry a 45. Thankfully this post is just for fun and I can keep all three!

The downside is it's fugly.
I have a 30S as well, but its not fugly. Does yours have an image of Nancy Pelosi stippled onto the grip frame?
That would be fugly.

My RIA Match FS came with the black rubber "checkered" grips (not pictured).

I added the rubber finger grooves insert (goes under a normal set of 1911 grips) and the Pacmayr-Lyman grips.

XDm.45 pulls nightstand duty. Talon grips. XS Big Dots. TLR-HL. It's my only .45 and although it's been awhile since I shot any others that a few friends have..1911 and a few others..I still prefer my XDm.

For me it would either be a Les Baer TRS or Ed Brown Special Forces.

I just ordered that insert per your link, thanks! I like the standard, classic side-view of full cocobolo grips, but rubber finger grooves on the front strap would make it perfect. Best compromise of looks + ergonomics (I think anyway).

There are a million .45 ACP handguns on the market. They're not all created equally.

It will be a tough choice between SA Professional (PC9111) and its Light Rail version (PC9111LR). If I have to keep only one then PC9111LR would be my choice. Even WC failed to dethrone it a couple of times so ended up selling them.

Both excellent, Ive wanted one for ages, non rail. Could only afford a Loaded though. Better than nothing.

My next 1911 will be a RIA nickel plated with faux pearl grips.

I will add some tasteful gold plated accents ( grip screws, safety, hammer, trigger ) for that Narco Pimp look.

Just bought it, a CZ 97b. Or, since it's still in jail, lets say I'm hoping it turns out as the best .45acp pistol for me.

Bought and got rid of several .45acps, including a G21 and several 1911s. Nothing wrong with them physically, they didn't fit what I wanted, except I'm sorry that I sold the Star PD. That was a very nice small pistol.

Of course I would choose the first 45 I bought. Springfield Amorys Custom loaded model in stainless steel. Love that gun.

I had been going back and forth with this for a while.

Long story short, just DROS'd a Kimber Stainless II.

Figured if I was going to get a .45ACP it might as well be a 1911.

Looking good. Arguably a better deal at $9 than $1000 in front strap checkering (in the world of 1911 dinosaurs).

That's the exact model of 1911 that our range has as a rental gun. I've put plenty of my 200gr cast boolit handloads through it, and it was a pleasure to shoot. Nice choice, there.

Thanks. I used to have a Springfield 1911 Loaded Target in 9mm. Was a very nice gun, but wanted a 1911 in .45. Plus wasn't into the target sights on the SA and it had some sharp edges that reared their ugly head in a 4-day class.

I have read all the negative stuff about Kimber, but bad news always gets more attention than good news. I originally had the black Custom II in my cart, but when I got to the shop to do the paperwork I was able to compare the black and stainless side by side and it was no contest. The Stainless II looked way better in person than it did in the photos online, and I preferred the blacked out serrated rear sight and red fiber optic front sight over the 3 white dot setup on the black Custom II. Otherwise they are identical as far as components, barrel, trigger, etc.

No negative about Kimber from me. Ive had my stainless TLE for years with zero issues now at over 18k rounds.
Consider slapping a Wilson flat wire spring in yours when its ready, I think youll like the action. Throw out the shock buffs that come with it.

If I could own one and only one 45ACP pistol it would have to be a Glock 21SF.

14 rounds of 45ACP goodness makes a grown man happy.

I've had and or still do 1911's, HKs, Sig 220, G21 G30 and others.

GLOCK 36 is my choice in 45acp. it does everything I need, reliable, function, easy to carry, service, and shoot.

Picture taken off the internet this is not the one I own

My favorite pistol also.

I reload 200 grain SWCs for it, and it's very satisfying to rip out the center of the bullseye with those huge, fat holes it makes.
