Electrical Question
The pictured box fell apart so I'm going to replace it. When I do I'm going to remove the attached light (I no longer need it.) The light and receptacle are controlled by their own switches. The light has one black and one white wire feeding it.
My question is this: When I remove the light, do I wire-nut the black and white wires individually or do I wire them together? As far as I know there's nothing else down stream on that circuit, if that matters. Clear as mud? Thanks. |

Separate wire nut on each wire, secure and seal it with electrical tape, mark the wire as switched for future reference.
BTW those cheap pot metal bell boxes always rot and fall apart, youre better off with a fiberglass or abs box for wet locations
