Default Trying to remove action from a Sako TRG42

Does anyone have a link to a good guide for taking the action/barrel out of an early Sako TRG42. I ordered the manual from Sako. I understand there are changes to this rifle, I believe I have an early one. What I see online is less than complete.

Stuck right now on trying to remove the trigger mechanism. Removed the screw and the mechanism doesn't seem to want to budge.

This entire fiasco started because the BT21 bipod attachment requires I separate the stock from the action.

Real Pain in the arse.

It should fall out, after you remove the hardware.

I am screwed now, a small spring fell out of the trigger mechanism. Bagging everything - does anyone recommend a Sako knowledgeable gunsmith in the San Jose area?

Thanks for the links, but I used that information in the process of screwing up my rifle.

Going to bring it to Spartan Rifles which is located in my city.

I don't seem to learn what degree I should tinker with my guns.

I rebarrelled a TRG42 and don't recall there being any problem taking it apart and putting it back together.

The screw in the trigger mechanism is supposedly blocked from easy access on early models - or so I read. I am thinking the middle screw I removed was something to do with trigger pull, but I cannot find any diagrams on where the trigger screw is on an early model. I mean I pushed the safety around, pulled the trigger, etc. but didn't see the screw - probably my bad eyesight. The online manual is less than clear.

I was lucky that Spartan Rifles said they would put it together for me, I caught Marcus in a good mood.

At least I stopped after only one small spring fell out.

Just one of the many projects I forgot about as I look around my house for that NDM 86 bolt.

1. Installed better triggers on my AR 15s (only one broke screw)
2. Got my Safari 45 working
3. Smith & Wesson 686 still questionable
4. Sako TRG 42 at gunsmith
5. Still need to put the new gas cylinder on a shooter G43
6. NDM-86 still need to find original bolt
7. Found several red dot/flash light type devices that I haven't decided what to put them on.
8. Found my pile of AK parts from when I was trying to put an optic on an AK and nothing would work out without a lot of filing/fitting parts - so screw that project - for now.

I am sure there are other projects I haven't done, plenty of used brass I haven't reloaded. I am slowly putting all the reloading components into known locations.

House is looking neater.

Only found the one mummified rat.

Retirement is fun.

At least I can ***** and moan on this forum as my family doesn't want to listen to me re: guns.

OP reading your threads, you sound like a guy with just enough knowledge to be dangerous to the things you touch.

I would say you are accurate.

*I would add that I bought many used guns in the last 40 years, so I inherited a lot of problems.

First do no harm.

Of course, they're yours to do what you will...

I have problems with about 2% of the guns I own.

So I don't think I am that bad.

*My mom called today and wants me to fix her stopped up drain in the kitchen sink. I wonder if tomorrow I will break my record of going to the hardware store 6 times to replace things I break.

Marcus was as good as his word. Rifle is together - ordered a muzzle brake - https://www.americanprecisionarms.co...=2081866940426 - ordered some 300 Win Mag brass - envision testing the rifle in the near future.
