My 6.5 Creedmoor
Recently joined and figured I'd show off the 6.5 Creedmoor I built myself a few months back.
Blueprinted 700SA PTG Speedlock Firing Pin, retipped to .062" 20" Shilen #6 1:8 PTG .200" Recoil Lug Shrewd Varmint Muzzle Brake Hawkins Precision Bottom Metal Geissele Super 700 Trigger Bell & Carlson Target/Competition Stock Leupold 20 MOA Rail Nightforce Xtreme Duty Rings Nightforce SHV 5-20x56 Cerakoted Armor Black I've been shooting the Hornady Match 147gr factory loads and it seems to like them, both targets are 5 shots at 100 yards off of a bench and sandbags. The rifles a pig but it recoils like a 22lr. Thanks for taking a look! |

So far I've shot it out to 800 yards with decent success. I want to attend one of the wind reading clinics and sharpen up my skills on those longer shots, most of my experience in the 300 yard range.

Very clean lookin' 700. Me likey!
Is the action bedded to the stock? And the Geissele Trigger, are you running it as Single or 2stage? How do you like the trigger? I ask because I prefer 2-stage... waiting on the TT Diamond 2-stage. |

It's been bedded with Acragel, I know Bell & Carlson says it doesn't need it but it can't hurt...
I really like the Geissele, I already ordered another to replace the Jewell I have on another rifle. I left it as a two stage and left the factory setting alone except for taking up the overtravel . I hate to use a cliche but the second stage breaks like glass at 2.5 lbs with no felt creep. |
