Besides without a national registry it is not enforceable. Even the Dems won't vote for this without a national registry.

They said they would- and its one area that they did not lie about.

A real Republican would not sponsor or sign such idiot bills.

But a G.D. Rino would.

Bear in mind that the 'filibuster' may not provide a measure of protection forever. In fact, eliminating the filibuster was one of the things being discussed as a very real option were Democrats to gain control of the Senate. Right now, it's still too close a margin for Schumer to be confident he could and/or ignore the concerns if he did; but, there's still pressure out there for him to do it.

Ultimately, Republican support is likely to depend on the final bill, which could end up considerably different than what's been introduced. Bear in mind that, depending on how the question is asked, there are polls which show considerable, wide-spread support for UBC. Of course, that support usually takes a big hit when it is acknowledged that for UBC to truly work, universal registration would be required. (What's also helping, currently, at least in California, are the delays which new and unaware gun owners weren't necessarily expecting; something else that's also part of or should be part of the discussion related to UBC, the increasing movement by Democrats to halt FFL's from releasing firearms where the background check comes back 'delayed.' Remember the lag time last year in California when Newsom shut things down and the myriad threads on how long people had to wait for approval?)

It's similar to how they argue that one of the necessary reasons behind regulating so-called "Ghost Guns" is so they can be traced. While that may sound like a good 'bumper sticker' point, when you point out to people that 'tracing' the gun typically comes after a crime has been committed with it, the 'talking point' is often met with... "Uh... what good is that in preventing crime?"

That seems to be our job and it's part of what helped last time; particularly when it was pointed out that Obama's own NIJ noted that it wouldn't work without universal registration.

We need to emphatically and legitimately tie Universal REGISTRATION with UBC. Given what Government (not to mention Big Tech and the media via 'public information/documents') has been doing the last few years, do you really trust Government to know exactly what guns you possess, where you store them, etc.? While there are some who would be okay with that, I suspect that the majority would be hesitant.

With all that said, bear in mind that even nearly half the Calguns members who responded to an OT poll a month and a half ago expect UBC/Registration, Armor Piercing Ammo, Body Armor, Mag ban, AWB/50BMG to pass within the next two years. With expectations like that floating around, what might the expectation of politicians be; particularly RINO's who still seem to feel that the Left can be worked with?
