Old Crescent Arms double??
Made a 200$ offer on a 30" 16 gauge double barrel shotgun. It's a Crescent Arms model Paragon CS hammerless. Its in fair condition with a strong firing pin strike . Stock has no major scratches or wear. Barrels and chambers look dirty but there is no corrosion. At the bottom of the break action below the hinge pin you can see where the edge has a slight deformation from being opened so many times. I'm guessing this gun is from the 1920s to 1940s. the number stamped on the underside of the barrel assembly and on the receiver match. Stamped T21609 .
I know early 12 gauges were 2.5 instead of the 2.75 and 3 inch standard. Were 16 gauge shells shorter in the past than modern shells. Can anyone tell me more about this gun. If in good condition can it shoot modern shells?
