Default Cheap "geared head" for your spotting scope or range finder

so the long range game gets expensive with all the equipment needed to both shoot and spot your shots.

not being a rich guy, and being generally cheap, i am trying things out that are not typically recommended by experienced shooters with lots of money.

while i am not compromising on the rifle, scope or anything involved in the actual shooting part, i am trying to save money on other equipment.

to that end, i got this $40 Orion "slow motion adapter" rather than spending over $200 on a real geared head. the idea is that it will be easier to precisely aim my rangefinder to range objects far out, but it can also be used for the spotting scope.

it isn't as "fine" as a real expensive geared head, so it may not work for everything or everyone, but it also moves faster, which might be a good thing for some users.

this is how much it moves with 1/2 turn on the adjustment (lateral).
the target is 223 yards away, and the spotter is at 20x.

Here's the link for that if anyone wants it. What rail and spotting scope adapter are you showing? Looks like a nice setup.

that's just an inexpensive arca rail with built in clamp (probably chinese made, sorry).

<$20 while you can get a similar rail from RRS for $100+

the plate on the mk4 spotter is a Colorado Company arca plate, which i paid extra for because they have removable stops.

oh, FYI i found out while looking for a local optics store than lots of small budget telescopes come with tripods that have "slow motion adapters", so there may be many similar options if we know what we are looking for.

funny this is the same brand as my 20-60x spotter.

What's the weight limit for that head?
