Default Plz recommend holster for jogging/running

Looking for a holster to carry a S&W shield while going on runs.

I've seen those belly band type of holsters which look comfortable and seem like they would secure a gun well.

However, some of them look cheap and gimmicky.

I've yet to try any and am hoping to hear from an experienced runner/CCW holder that Can save me some time and money and recommend something that works well.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a belly band type. Thanks in advance.

Not a bad idea...I haven't tried one but feel like it would bounce around too much.

Do you use one? If so, which one and how well does it work for running?

Read the first review. Best to put on a compression type shirt, belly band holster and loose fitting shirt over that. Be sure to use a little renaissance wax on blued parts and wipe down after your run.

Nathan Sports - they have vests and hydration belts. I use to run with an expandable runners belt. Only ever put my keys, cash, phone and pepper spray in it.

Someone on another forum suggested wearing a belt across waist (if shorts have no loops) and carry an appendix holster (I tried strong side but gun would slide over to appendix area naturally).

Worked well for me.

Check these out. I've modified similar running vests for trail use. LCP can fit in various pockets with kydex over trigger guard. Comfortable for 50k and beyond.

Im not a jogger, but I use a standard model when hiking and like it.

How serious a runner are you? I’m guessing not that serious/competitive if this is a question. When I run it’s somewhere between 4-16mi at a 10-ish min (“just get there”) pace. I tried belly bands etc but none concealed well enough when I start sweating after 10 seconds.

Now I just run in RailRiders shorts with my usual belt, AIWB setup and kit. G48, spare mag, oc, blade, ifak, phone. Don’t know what if your anticipated problems come on two or four legs but that should be overkill for either around here.

Before you laugh I was inspired by Kyle Defoor regularly posting his run times in his full EDC kit. Why not ingrain that?

I'm not a hardcore runner but this is what I use when I go on hikes or runs. This one comes with an extra stabilizer strap to eliminate movement and it has a dedicated gun compartment. It's also easy access if you need to use it.

I also have a belly band and those work really well as well. You're not going to find any super high quality looking belly bands because no one sees them and anything you add will probably just make it more sweaty. It's basically an elastic band with velcro but they get the job done.
