Default Utah CCW Benefits vs Constitutional carry

I am hoping some can enlighten me because google searches have been vague. With the current and ever increasing number of Constitutional Carry or Permitless Conceal Carry States, what is the benefits for a California resident to obtain a Utah non-resident CCW?

To date I've read:

1) Reciprocity CCW Travel - I see states gained that are not already Constitutional Carry are WA, NV, NE, LA, WI, NC, and DE (However all offer open carry with exception of NE).

Do you/we really expect these existing states not to convert to Constitutional Carry very soon?

2) A Permit, depending on each state rules, may offers more freedom to conceal in more areas i.e. closer to schools or may ignore business signage Federally.

While we may be protected Federally, are you/we really taking guns into these locations despite no gun allowed posting opening ourselves up to potential hassles or lawsuits?

3) "Oops law", whereas a permit holders are given more leniency should a law be broken i.e. mistakenly leaving gun or ammo in bag through TSA airport security.

My experience the trained/educated are held to a higher standard than the common lay person as proper law/procedure should be known.

4) Future background check will be shorter or unnecessary.

...even in CA?

5) It increases your credibility regarding your concealed carry privileges during encounters with law enforcement.

Is there more benefits I have neglected to consider? Am I not giving these the full weight of there real benefit? Is getting a Utah CCW permit still a good value?

Probably repeating the same question in different ways, please help me understand.

For me it was it to gain NV since I travel there quite a bit. I was already in a class, and it added about 150 bucks to it overall, but I was already there. I do travel to a few of the other states gained by doing it as well. I figure I am out of Ca 10-20 times a year easy and at least two of those trips are for weeks at a time. I think you gain 36 or 37 states by doing so why not?

Common ones for California residents to get are Arizona or Utah. Arizona gives reciprocity with New Mexico. Utah Gives Reciprocity with Washington State. All other states are the same when combined with a California CCW. Both have mail in applications with similar requirements such as fingerprints and training. Both have similar fees and a 5 year permit. Arizona allows a DD214 in place of training but Utah dose not. In my experience Arizona mailed the permit to me faster than Utah.

As far as the states given that are not constitutional carry, Nebraska is the most likely next year. Louisiana would need to elect a Republican Governor or have a legislator that would actually over ride the current Governor's veto (As what happened recently, it passed the legislator, got vetoed by the governor, but the legislator failed to overturn it). North Carolina and Wisconsin are possible depending on mid term results, as is Nevada. Washington, New Mexico and Delaware are unlikely though.

In conclusion the benefits of a Utah non resident permit are to gain reciprocity with states not offered by a California permit. Those states are Nevada, Washington and Louisiana. When compared to a Arizona permit, the only difference is New Mexico in leu of Washington.

FL is common too. AZ is easier to get because FL requires training (hunting license will suffice).

Not necessarily but one of the real reasons is FL requires fingerprints to be rolled by a LE.

The training FL accepts is almost the same as what AZ would accept. Your CA CCW training can be used for both applications.

A reason for getting out of state permits is that those permits exempt the person from federal school zone laws in those states. For example, while I have an enhanced Idaho permit, that is recognized in both Utah and Washington, it does not exempt me from federal zone laws in either of those states. But my WA and UT permits do.

I have a Tennessee lifetime and a Utah 5-year permit. I carry both when I travel out of state. My reasoning is simply redundancy and changing laws etc... and I look at it this way, if you're in a state one covers and not the other, or even in a state neither covers, it may be a get out of jail free card for a 2A sympathetic LEO in those states for whatever reason... Smoothing things over carrying open, perhaps having a 15 round mag in a ten round state. I have ZERO evidence of this, I just look at it like having a couple permits makes it pretty clear to any LEO that you are a vetted law abiding citizen in general.

Most insurance requires you have a ccw permit to get insuranced. Legal fees will bankrupt you

Well I decided to get both the UT and AZ since it appears to be the easily available and to maintain in my area...and for such a small fee I can afford to be extra cautious.
