Dang Mark, you been busy! That set-up looks good. And, I spy Janis up there.
You're tuner/amp looks like my Pioneer I have out in the garage/loading area.
Yeah, you'll be out there cranking out some rounds. Good deal!

I'll take a picture or two of my bench and get over to ya Mark. Have you tried that Hornady digital scale yet? Back to Philipp's next week, I need some more Unique.

Tom, those are Kenwood, ca 1979. I bought those new and have schlepped them around ever since. They don't make em like they used to I need a good antenna for the reciever. I don't get good reception in the garage.

Send away Tom, I'll post em up for you. That little scale works great, it's nice to have some thing to double check. I'm really interested in that unit that Chris has..

I might head over to Phillip's tomorrow, I'll call you if I go. Remember that they're closed next weekend for the Shot Show.

I didn't think that this hobby would be so interesting. I've been reading about it for years but now, I just can't get enough of it. So much information out there my head is spinning.

I'm taking it slow and not trying to press Cole into it. I want him to learn, but I want him to do it at his terms, it mine.

That unit that Chris has is the RCBS "ChargeMaster" 1500[I think]. They work great and RCBS make a smaller version of that also. Ohh, I forgot you told me about Philipp's being closed next week. I 'll probably wait till he gets back. I'll be racing next weekend. Pick up the Henry Monday!!!!!!!!!

I definitely recommend the music.

As to "frosty beverages", I'd suggest non-alcoholic if you're reloading. Given this is mainly a California forum, I'd also recommend foregoing reefer and anything similar too.

Iirc, formulation and reloading data was changed several years ago.

For example, 7.5 grains under a 250 grain LSWC in .44 Special brass/LPP is good for 950-1000 fps, leaves nothing on the outside of the cases, and the cases can simply drop from the cylinder, clean as a whistle. The bore is certainly no dirtier than when anything else commercially loaded is fired through it.

It's a middle-range pressures powder. Bullseye is better for lighter loads and 2400 is better for hotter loads approaching Magnum pressures.
I like Bullseye or Unique for lighter loads, and I've used 'Lil Gun for heavier stuff. Max loads get me >2000 fps from a Timberwolf with NO signs of high pressure. You may want to check it out.

Nice bench Tom. I'm going to have to build (build, ha) me some cabinets for that open space above my bench.

Here are some pictures of Pennstater's reloading bench.

I be busy building cart-ridges. A few different flavors of .41 Magnum in 210 grain and .44 Magnum in 240 grain XTPs... there's also a nice .44 Speer "Deep Curl" jacketed soft point, weight 270 grains... I have a work up with those. If me and my rifle like 'em, then I can continue to work 'em to 1500 fps... ho-lee molee.

I go Home Deepo. I buy pvc. I buy elbows, I buy tees. Now I have. I need cardboard, and more zip ties... The MLC will coRnvene!

As promised above, I checked and Far West Gun in SB still has the 1894 357 mag. $599.

It has the plan hardwood stock and crossbolt safety.

Sights and barrel look to be in proper alignment. Not canted like my recent marlin 22 purchase!

I'm seeing that wind too Apples. I hate golfing in the wind and I hate fishing in the wind. I don't even like flying kites in the wind.

Let's see how things look tomorrow??

A little Winchester 92 short rifle in 45 colt. It's a sweet gun. Not sure which one I like better. This one was about $160.00 more then the Marlin.

Golf, beautiful lever. I have been looking for a 45 Colt for Wild Bunch shooting (WB requires a 40 caliber or greater lever). Much cartridge development underway on that rifle -- 45 Colt, 45 Schofield and the new 45 Cowboy Special. Congrats.

golf's new Winchester is perhaps the perfect 'short rifle' configured Model 1892. I think it is. It is STUNNING.

And he sucks.

I can go MLC this week! Lets' do this! When does Tom come back?!

Thanks guys. I have to blame Apples and Penn for this Winchester. I have never considered this caliber because the factory ammo is so darn expensive (I'm old, I hope I'm not repeating myself, again) Chris and Tom knew it was the right direction to go, especially during these times in California and I appreciate them pushing me and helping.

Phillip's Warehouse is like a fat kids candy store.

The weather has been so bad over the last few weeks,I haven't even thought about going shooting. This and playing soccer mom keeps me busy.

Yeah man, when Tom comes back we have to get out there. Let's get some new shooters too.

Please let me know how this goes. I have some books and internet data on the 45c loads but it's hard to find anything on rifle loads.

That's one nice rifle there!
It'll only get smoother with time, and be a really nice family heirloom to pass through the generations.
Time to pick up a nice SAA to go with it, and a carved leather scabbard.
Reloading for the .45 Colt gives you some options, and a way to custom tailor a load for that barrel length. Sounds like Apples has worked up some already, let us know what chrono data you guys get with actual measurements between similar rifles.
I looked at the website for the reloading warehouse you mentioned; lots of good stuff for sure. While it isn't exactly close, some time I'd stop in if over that way.

For the record, I've not loaded any .45 Colt, only .41 Mag, .44 S&W Special and .44 Magnum (rifle), specifically, and since my .44 Marlin '92 16" carbine has a s-l-o-w 1-in-38" twist that limits the length (and therefore weight) of bullet used, I'm limiting myself to a .44 Mag 270-grain jacketed flat point, with some 1600 fps 240-grain XTP loads thrown in.

I believe that according to the published data in Lyman's 50th and Hornady's 9th I can get a 270 grain to go 1500 fps without going with a maximum load.

I'm going to get out to the desert with or without you guys late next week after the Wed/Thurs round of rain showers. Looks like Friday. I have some new pvc target stands I whipped together, and with some Turner's cardboard target centers that hold shotgun clay birds. Going to have some fun! Who wants to join me?

It's going to be a bit on the cooler side over there, be careful!
I don't know where your exact spot it, but I am very familiar with a lot of the Mohave desert from organized shooting events during prior years. It is a beautiful place and has some great hidden spots still.
Have fun and stay warm!

I'd sure like to join you, if it doesn't rain. I know we need it but DANGGGG, its wet.

Tom hooked me up with a sweet deal on firewood. I've got one cord stacked and one to go.

Yes indeed, fellers. Lows this morning below freezing. Predicted low for the area in question Thurs/Fri is 42/41. Saturday is a no-go for me, so it's looking like Friday.
