Mojave Lever Crew - Roll Call!

1,125 with 9 minutes to go on that Colt Buntline. I'm going to not bid, dangitt. Can't justify that cost over the EMF or Ubertis that are half the cost, even though real Colt. :/

I'll just have to put the money saved towards a real 1st Gen SAA!

It’s a nice revolver.
The SAA my family owns looks very similar, but with a 5 1/2” barrel. It’s too nice for me to shoot; that’s what had me interested in a Standard.

Just throwing this out there:

If anyone’s interested, there is a Colt New Frontier Scout in .22lr with the cross-bolt safety and a 4 5/8” barrel on consignment in OC. I thought it had sold awhile back since it disappeared from the shelf, but I guess it never did...someone buy it so I don’t have to!

Rev we had 3 bottles of the Woodford totally evaporate over the holidays. Don't know what happened. Course a son was home from the army for a couple of weeks, he might of helped. A regular Woodford, the Woodford Rye and a bottle of the Woodford Double Oak. Thinking I like the rye the best.

It's gotta be a Woodford anomaly. I had a bottle of 4 grain that dried out almost instantly upon breaking the seal.

Not lever gun, but 1873. And somehow I ain't owned a 45 Colt whirlinpopper until now, just the levers.

I bought a Buntline today. Can't wait for it to show up so I can start dros so I can bring it home and fondle it.

Well Pennstater, I got the lever fever again..just Dros’d a custom Winchester 9422 from first year of production! Only big bummer it has previous owners initials engraved. But they are RAW, maybe I’ll think of something to go with that. It’s a little flashy. Birdseye maple with some flames on the foreend.

I started liking the maple look several years ago on a Browning 22 bolt gun at the local shop. It's still there, and I now love the look. But don't own one yet. And my Buntline I ordered hasn't shipped yet either. :/

That is a beautiful rifle there, for sure!
.22’s are some of the most useful firearms around, and are very versatile. You might be able to “fix” the engraving someone did, I’m thinking along the lines of laser engraving over it, depending on what exactly, and where, the previous owner put his initials. My FFL has a neat setup that laser engraves, using a computer-controlled machine; it is capable of various fonts, sizes, etc. I have had his shop laser engrave serial numbers on most of my stainless steel 1911 slides, to go along with the frames. Just a nice touch I like, but it could also be done to cover up something else. A bit of cold blue after would finish it.

Thanks all, yes Splithoof I was thinking along the lines of lasering something over it.
also was thinking of having someone strip the plating off of the bands and buttplate and blue or caseharden them. They appear to be gold plate over nickel ?? Gold ain’t my style.
