Default HISTORIC NIGHT - NEEDLES, CA DECLARES ITSELF A 2A SANCTUARY CITY!

Tonight the Needles, CA City Council made history and declared (made a Resolution) to become the first 2nd Amendment Sanctuary City in CA!

This is mainly due to it's proximity to AZ and the fact that Arizonans can't or won't cross over into CA to spend our money in Needles because of the ignorant and unconstitutional anti gun laws in CA. This will likely end up in court, perhaps the supreme court. The goal being to force CA to accept reciprocity of ccw permits and to allow law abiding AZ residents to enter the city without becoming felons.

These guys are going to need YOUR help! CalGuns I hope you will get in touch with them and lend a hand.

Better yet - this historic step forward needs momentum. You folks in CA (I live in Arizona across the Colorado from Needles) need to put pressure on your local Councils to follow the lead of Needles.

(I haven't posted on here in a very long time, since I evacuated from CA for Arizona, but I hope you folks will take note and act on this.)

I wonder just how 2A friendly Needles will be in practice. I mean like letting my 10 year old pull the belt fed 1919 down Main St. in his wagon?

I hope some good can come of this it is badly needed. It is so sad that no one at the federal level has been willing to do something about states that refuse to allow people from other states to come to within their borders and have the means to defend themselves.

How did this Historic Night slip by unnoticed by Robin Richards? Reporter for the "Needles Desert Star" who sat in on and counted every vote by every council member on every issue tonight.

http://www.mohavedailynews.com/needl...430192aa1.html

Possibly a Closed Session Discussion Vote? But that would run afoul of the Brown Act IIRC.

I wonder what Sheriff McMahon thinks about this? Since Needles is a SBSD contract city. Did they even consult with him as their CLEO?

Don't get me wrong. I'm hoping this is a real deal. Just for the Nose Thumbing factor to Newsom and the rest of the Anti 2A leftists in SacOcrapmento.

Robin Richards noticed it:

“22. NCC discretionary item: Discuss declaring the city of Needles a Second Amendment Sanctuary City. Action was to form a committee to draft language to that effect.

Belt-Y, Gudmundson-Y, Hazlewood-Y, Longacre-Y, Paget-Y, Terral-Y”

So, they did not declare themselves as a sanctuary city. They formed a committee to draft language that could be used to declare themselves as a sanctuary city.

When I work near Needles I make a point to not spend one penny in CA. I gas up in Ft Mohave or Laughlin and eat in Topock. I'll make sure to get fuel in Needles and let them know it's to show support for this. I doubt it will do much in CA, but the people there need to know they're not alone. If enough people mention it, it might get the council to vote for it.

Here we have the prototypical liberal elitist demonstrating his contempt for the common people that dare to think and act for themselves. How unsurprising.

Sir, in the upper Colorado River valley (Needles, Laughlin, Bullhead City, Ft. Mohave and other villages there are over 100,000 residents. While Needles only has 6-8,000 - the whole point of this is to enable residents of adjoining states such as myself to carry in and around Needles without being arrested for having a high cap mag.

This is not a license for morons to operate in Needles without ramifications.

Possibly a Closed Session Discussion Vote? But that would run afoul of the Brown Act IIRC.

Beats me - but it was filmed live on ZachNews.com and streamed on his Facebook page. Look at about hour 1.56-2.25.

EDIT: It WAS reported by the Needles Star - item 22. Kind of buried it though. That's what they do. Liberal azzed paper.

This was NOT in a closed session. It was all out in the public.

I do not believe the Sheriff is on board at this point. But massive public pressure could change that - and that is where you folks come in. I live in AZ, across the river from Needles, so I have no real voice. But I can help YOU folks make this happen!

This isn't carte blanc to be an idiot. But if actually enacted and enforced it would permit lawfully armed citizens to not face arrest for crossing the river with their Glock with a high cap magazine.

We actually had an armored car crew arrested for straying into CA with their high cap magazines. I mean that's nuts!

Great comment - still not sure I'd buy fuel there... yesterday when I went down it was $2.65 for regular in Bullhead City and a whopping $4.69 in Needles. But I did get a dairy queen shake - for $5.00 LOL.

Obviously my comment was partially tongue and cheek, but your added comment proves my (sarcastic) point. With only 6 to 8 thousand residents, Needles has fewer houses than a standard housing tract, much less a real city. And including an entire region including parts of 3 states to scrape up 100K (which is also an INSIGNIFICANT amount of people in a state of 40 MILLION) again underscores my point.

And if that weren't enough, most of the region you include (i.e, Bullhead City, Laughlin etc. aren't even in CA and aren't affected by this decision(unless they actually come to Needles).

So... again, the 6 to 8 thousand dust dwellers have much to be proud of today. And obviously we salute them, but really, let's shoot for a BIT larger town next time for this before we get too excited.

Thank You MAYOR and username for bringing (22) to my attention. I read that article twice and still missed it.

I applaud Needles for their courage to buck the leftist bozos in SacOcrapmento.

Big talk from someone who lives in a SUBURB of a decent sized city.

Just because you can drive to a city, don't mean you can get all high and mighty.

I'm always amazed how a place with out any significant bridges and tunnels can have a Bridge And Tunnel Crowd.

LOL - I understand (except the troll part) , but... just for comparison.

Population comparison:

Needles = 5007
Garden Grove 174,000!!!!!!

People keep missing my point. It's not politics that is the problem for gun ownership and gun control IT"S POPULATION. The fact of the matter is where you have a large population living in close quarters you WILL have strict gun control and/or few people owning and enjoying guns. Just overlay a map of the US showing population with a map showing the most heavily restrictive gun laws and you will see it's a perfect fit.

So.... Needles declaring a 2A sanctuary zone is a bit like pissing in a wetsuit if you know the old joke.

BTW - Mission Viejo is about the same population as Compton. But that's about ALL they have in common.

NO - missing my point. My city... Mission Viejo..... population = 96,000!!!! (and it's only 16 square miles)

My county - Orange - 3 MILLION! More populace than many states and I can drive across it (without traffic) in less than an hour.

STILL HUNDREDS of times more populated than Needles. Like it or not, even suburbs of big cities are big cities next to Needles and places like it.

Needles = 5007

When you've convinced any of those larger town to do what Needles is doing right now, get back with us. You're still going to be a troll but you'll have a valid point for once.

But thanks for showing your absolute disdain for people actually making an effort. You've really shown your true colors in this thread. I didn't think my opinion of you could possibly be any lower than it was, but I now stand corrected.
