Default Recommend belt clips that won’t tear up leather gun belt?

I’m working on my CCW setup and have a Theis two-clip hybrid IWB holster that came with standard metal clips, and I also bought Kydex clips from Tommy Theis, as the metal ones scratched up some leather upholstery and a belt. However, the Kydex clips have edges that aren’t exactly sharp, but they do mark up my leather gun belt (Hank’s stitched gunner, 17 oz., 1 1/2 inch) when I’m putting on and taking off my holster.
I’m hoping some folks here can steer me toward some holster clips that aren’t so destructive. I realize that leather belts take on some “character,” but the scrapes I’m getting are not only ugly, they might draw attention to the clips / weapon.

Thanks in advance.

Swapping from clips to loops should solve it.

Shop around for leather loops if you want to match them.

I prefer loops as well, leather or polymer.

The clips, even if smooth plastic, will exert pressure on the leather belt and cause indentations.

Another option would be J hooks with a bottom opening that's wider than your belt's breadth so it won't eat into the bottom of your belt.

+1. Loops are the bombdiggity. They're just slightly slower to put on and take off. But they don't scratch anything and they're is no risk of them coming unclipped on the draw like you may have with clips.

As far as clips go, Ulti Clip gets a lot of positive reviews but I have no idea how it does with scratching.

Clips are just not for me. I'm active, even when I'm chillin', so loops are a necessity. And I need TWO loops, to keep a holster exactly where I want it.

The holsters that I really like are made by Sparks, Thurner, and Wright. All are leather, and none of them scuff my belts. Tupperware holsters are not for me.

I have swapped to "pull the dot" loops on all of my kydex holsters. My Milt Sparks Criterion holster came with "self closing neodymium magnetic belt loop system". I really like these! They will pinch your fingers if you aren't careful.

Those things are the shizz. I have them on a VM2. I've been thinking of calling Milt Sparks to see if I can get just the magnetic snaps so I can install them on two other VM2's.

Yep, $36. About half way down the page, look for Criterion/Nexus.

I use a Milt Sparks “Nexus”, with the magnetic belt loops for EDC. Excellent product!
