Thank you for allowing me to join this group.
I live in San Clemente in south Orange county. Plan on leaving the state soon for a more 2A friendly state. I have a bunch of reloading components to sell before I move, that use to belong to my late brother. I am selling it for his wife.

Hello everyone,

Thank you to those who created a group for firearm owners in California first of all. With that said, I have visited the website off and on for the past few years and finally jumped in a few days ago.

I am also currently waiting on a P226 as my first firearm ever, and while it’s taken forever now was the time. I also live in San Diego and am looking forward to being a gun owner. Cheers everyone!

Hey all, first post, I'm new to this community, from the Bay Area, grew up in SoCal. Thanks to all of you for contributing with all the great information! This forum is much needed for all the weird CA laws and how it keeps changing.

I grew up around firearms, mostly shooting clay, but recently have taken interest in owning and shooting a variation of different firearms for home defense and if SHTF. Avid believer in the 2A. Is it just me or does cleaning firearms relieve stress?

Welcome aki.

There is a calming effect for me when I am cleaning.

(Unless I am in a hurry.)

Welcome WBT.

Depending on the gear you make, post up a thread in General Gun Discussions or elsewhere as appropriate, introduce yourself and what you make.

Pics are always appreciated for comments.

Just wanted to say hi folks - I've lurked here and found great resources on navigating the wishy washy ambiguity that are our state's gun laws the past few years for which I'm most grateful. I finally joined the resistance officially and am glad to be here. Thanks to the admin/mods for providing this great resource!

I come from pistols, shotguns, and precision rifles and have recently caught the CORV... ahem, I mean AR15 bug which has been altogether too much fun already!

Say hi if you see me blasting away down in Panoche or on the Metcalf range in the South Bay!

Default lurker, out of the shadows!

hey folks

tho' i joined this forum close to 2 years ago, this is my first post. i'm a 72 y.o. practicing physician living in marin county, and have had a little experience with firearms. i shot a .22 in florida as a kid, shot an m14 in the military, and bought my first handgun for concealed carry while an ER doc in detroit (colt .38 detective special). i inherited a colt .32acp pocket hammerless 1903 from my dad, and a walther pp my uncle brought back from ww2. a couple of years ago i bought a mossberg 54301 after binge-watching the walking dead. but since moving to california in the 70's, haven't really been shooting at all. however, i just ordered a glock 17 gen3 and a ruger pc carbine m-lok, & am pending delivery.

the main reason i stopped by here today is to tap the collective wisdom about the new red dot and reflex sight systems, and to find places to get some range / shooting time in. i know how to use iron sights (i was expert marksman when working for Uncle) but reading about these new gadgets is interesting.

anyhow, i'll go look for some topics, and we'll see you around the forum. looks like a great place!

Hey BlanketyBlank! I live in southern Santa Rosa and I like to shoot at Circle S Ranch in Petaluma. $15 for all day at an outdoor range with no ammo or sales. I have recently been interested in looking up areas that are public, that the BML can lead me to, as I headed that there are areas near me, but I still need to do my proper research! Hope all is well! Iím hailing from Novato where I was for about 5 years and used to shoot at a place there infrequently (indoor) and moved here 3 years ago. Circle S ranch has become a favorite for paper target shooting and at around 45 yds. Cheers and congrats on the awesome Glock .

Default Official Newbie, long time lurker

Just wanted to drop in here and say hello. Like many others, I've also lurked the site to help navigate the cluster that is CA gun laws. Finally decided to jump in and make it official, and I'm looking forward to being a part of this community.

S/O to the admins and folks working behind the scenes to keep this thing humming!

Welcome Alicanto.

Check out the Sonoma County banter thread here and say hi.
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ghlight=sonoma

I have close friends in Santa Rosa who love wine.
We will visit when we can travel again.

Any recommendations for tasting rooms?

Hey Y’all,

Good to be here! South Orange County native recently back in California for family after 5 years abroad in free America. I am now residing in North county San Diego with family and learning the current state of affairs in state for gun ownership/recreation. Happy to join this proactive group and and further educate myself and be a part of stemming the tide of further Removal of Constitutional rights for the next generation. Hopeful that the reorganizing of the 9th Circuit and possible enlightenment of voters during current crisis will bring some freedom back to this state...

Hello. New member in the San Bernardino county area.

Always been interested but didn't have the money till recently for my first purchase. Kind of sucks that this whole pandemic hit around the same time and prices just seem to skyrocket and availability is almost non-existent. Though it did make it a little easier to make my case to my girl. Lol.

Took my girl to the RMR in Rancho right before this whole Shelter in Place order went into effect and had a great time. Looking forward to when we can get back to ranges being open.

Thank you! I got myself a CZ SP-01 and my girl a Beretta PX4 Storm, both in 9mm.

I actually bought a M&P Sport II online as well but they're stopped shipping to CA so had to request a refund. I'm all for helping small/local shops but can't justify paying $600 for something that I have no timeline on being able to receive. After further research think, I'll go with a Springfield Saint whenever they become available again. For now, just lurking in the used sections to see if anything cool pops up. Lol.

Hello everyone.

New member here just wanting to say hi and that I’m grateful for this community. I was born and raised in Southern California and I love my home state but I will do my part to change its oppressive ways. Currently residing in Irvine, Orange County. I’m also a new soon-to-be gun owner. Purchased a S&W Shield and have a few days left for the waiting period. Hope to learn a lot from everyone here.

Thank you. Kadet adapter huh? Changes it to a .22?

Looking at the Marlin XT-22 for some cheap fun. Been hearing good things about them.
