On a serious note, stay safe over there. And, regardless of all of the garbage you hear in the media, we are all extremely proud of what you are accomplishing over there. Thank You!

Can anyone tell me if I can use Trijicon ACOG TA01NSN for M4A1 on my AR15? What is the difference for the one for AR15? thanks

Yes, you can use it on your AR15. I believe the TA01NSN is optimized for use with the 14.5" barrel found on USGI M4's. Not positive on that but it seems I read that somewhere. I've had one on my 16" Bushy for about a year now and I love the 4x for distance, but not for close work. There are back up iron sights on top, but I would rather use an EOTech if I did any amount of close shooting.

Also, regarding the ACOG, after about 1000 rounds I noticed what looked like fog on the inside of the ocular lens. After about 90 more rounds it turned out that the scope was broken as many small pieces of glass could clearly be seen tinkling around inside. I sent an email to Trijicon and they responded back with an RA number and to make a long story short they fixed it free of charge (I actually thought they sent me a new one at first because it looked like new). So kudos to Trijicon for standing behind their product, and hopefully that was just a one off.

Two of mine.

Pictured is some of the ammo I keep in my home office, a Surefire M4 CB, and 2 Stags.

Top one is a 16" LMT upper with DD 7.0 free float, PRI flip up front sight, M.I. Rear BUIS, Eotech 551 with an accucam and LMT SOPMOD stock.
Bottom one is a 14.5" LMT upper with perm. attached Phantom, LMT BUIS..

Actually, I'm almost embarrased to say, that's only the ammo that was inside my safe. I removed it to make room for more rifles, and while I had it out I put a couple guns by it.

HEUER: The Winchester boxes are actually Q3131A, the only .308 on the table is loose Aussie I had in cases.

Pretty sure I bought all my 5.56, including what's in those pics from ammoman.com, outdoormarksman.com and locally when the stores would get in Q3131A. Ammo prices have headed north in the last 6 months, buy what you can and stock it up, it's not getting cheaper with the rising cost of the raw ingredients.

Tony I really like the top rifle in your pictures. It's VERY similar to one that I'm working on right now. Why no vertical pistol grip on that one? A BMAS pistol grip would make that top one pretty darn EVIL.

We think alike. I'm actually looking for one right now, alot of brands, and materials to consider. Right now I'm in a constant "Waiting for UPS" mode. trying to get home and hide the packages before my wife gets home. It's a tough job, let me tell you. I also have some single point sling fittings coming in with quick disconnnects for all the rifles.

I went with Spectergear's MOUT sling. Hopefully I like it and I won't be listing it on ebay.. Basically I liked that you can leave the attachment on many rifles, then just clip it on. I have another one of their slings on my Socom16 and it's pretty good.

Good choice. I was debating that or the Wilderness single point. Went with the Wilderness one since I've had good luck with their stuff before. They also added a QD adapter for it but it costs extra.

WhiteSands,

Let's see...I have cobbled this carbine together from:
  • Stag Lower
  • LMT 14.5" Upper with permenantly attached Phantom (The barrel is chrome lined with a 1/7 twist)
  • LMT lower parts kit (I think, it was from Bravo Company)
  • Knight's RAS & vertical foregrip
  • Rock River side sling adapter
  • Stag collapsable stock & milspec buffer extension, with H buffer
  • Bushmaster carry handle
  • Hogue pistol grip
  • Bushmaster 10rd magazine
  • Sporting Conversions magazine kit
  • And a 10 round stripper clip of XM855PD for good measure.

Can you guys also clue us in on the price for each component. It would be nice to get a ballpark range for those of us who haven't built our lowers yet and desire similiar configurations.

OK I gotta admit at first I didn't fully get the use of the 10 round thermold mag in Whitesand's rifle. Then I realized the ergonomic genious of the design!

See with the 10 round bushies the mags stick out as much as a 20 shot magazine so if you have a forward pistol grip on it then the fixed magazine will prevent the rifle from opening fully to load from the top. But with the shorter thermold in this design from DPMS the rifle opens and the pistol grip clears the mag... so subtle and clever. This probably also explains the use of the ar15plus.com kit by some as well.

Here's a crappy picture of my Bushy Carbon 15 top loading carbine... That my unfortunate *** managed to buy a month before the lower receiver news of late. lol

Of course I am also in DROS right now for two Sun Devil lower receivers that I bought from Chris at BSP in Riverside. Great guy btw. I can't wait to start piecing them together!

I'll take better pics of the Carbon 15 though. Going shooting again tomorrow. It is still very cool and very very light... So it will still have some sort of neat factor.

Default The bushie

I am starting to have second thoughts on the Bushmaster. At first I was not too impressed with the carbon fibre. I did get to shoot a free state detachable mag version at a LEO show in vegas last year and it seemed just o.k. But I guess anything would seem o.k. after just shooting a 100rnd belt out of a M249
I was at a public range last week with my Ameetec and met another shooter with one of the fixed mag bushies and it did shoot and function just fine.
Hell I guess you could always get a Vulcan CF lower for it. You could call it the MasterVulcan or maybe BushVulcan.
