OMG the sky is falling!

A new variant nicknamed "Eris" is the dominant strain right now.

The most common Eris symptoms mimic the common cold, including a cough, congestion, sneezing, and a sore throat.

Newer strains tend to have milder symptoms compared to earlier variants, too. "[COVID EG.5] rarely goes down into the lungs," Dr. Yancey says. She adds that there also seems to be less loss of smell than in previous COVID strains?but other than that, Eris is very similar to the strains that have circulated for the past year or so. "It tends to cause mostly sore throat and congestion, but only rarely pneumonia."

It mimics the common cold. It rarely causes pneumonia. What's all the fuss about? It's a freaking cold.

I have had all the above common symptoms over the last week. I was inconvenienced rather than sick. I would have continued to go to work before 2020 if I had the same thing back then.

I just talked to friend in az her and her husband have it now again. She says she just is congested and feels worn out all the time, Had it for a week. Did not go to doctor took test and ust laid low.

New round of "free" covid tests hit the mail yesterday.

Never did hear a decent explanation how the rapidly mutating virus that evades "vaxx" still succumbs to the antigen test.

My wife has a dermatologist appt. on the 5th and their robo phone reminder now states mask required, vax card and temp required for entry.

Shall be interesting. Looks as if medical facilities are back at it. I know some staff members at different facilities never gave up the mask.

I have a slight cough and mild sore throat right now.

I guess if I was a Leftist/Statist, I would have tested (and my guess is I would be positive) for Covid. I would then try to take two weeks off work to "quarantine".

But nope, I have a job that needs me and I am not a bitch.

Instead, I didn't waste my time with a test to tell me that I am in the process of using my immune system to fight something off. If it gets worse, I might stay home for a day. But chances are it will not get worse (due to my pure blood) and I continue to shake my head with embarassment at the people who refuse to let Covid die.

My cardiac surgeon and half of his office still wear a mask.

Some of the staff at the wife's ortho doctor wear a mask; optional for patients so far. (broke her right wrist back in August). That surprised me at the ortho facility.

My ophthalmologist was the last to give up mandated mask; I have an appt/ on the 23, so will be interesting to see if required this soon.

As far as the wife going to the dermatologist, we both are, she can't drive now and has a major balance problem ( brain tumor). Yes we are, has to, on going issue.

So yeah, will be interesting.

Must be a blue state thing. I went to a large med facility this morning here in FL and neither staff nor patients were wearing masks. No one tried to push a flu shot on me either.
What is the point of a vax card if you don't have the required number of booster stamps on it?

Omg! This is so dangerous. It has been raging through my work. People just disappear. They are out for 2-3 days and, and, and then they're back feeling fine. Oh the horror!
