Tactical Magwell Funnel and Grip

Quick question: In Ca, does a Armaspec Rhino- R-23, which is a Mag well funnel and grip, turn a featureless rifle into a illegal assault rifle because of the incorporated grip on the Mag well.

(c) “Forward pistol grip” means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp forward of the trigger.
(d) “Pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon” means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top of the exposed portion of the trigger while firing.

the Armaspec Rhino- R-23 is less of a "pistol grip" than the magazine itself. The way I read the CCR, it's good to go.

I'd be cautious. While it won't fit the definition of a pistol grip generally, it very well could be considered a forward pistol grip, which is a feature.

Well thanks all for the answers. I was hoping to hear a definite "no" but I had a feeling it was gray area. Looks like it is a gray area. Open to interpretation from the law enforcement officer that may look at it. Absolutely ridiculous. It just adds to easier weapon manipulation when changing butt stock to weak side. Not to mention a large funnel for mag installs in low light. Oh well, I should have known. Its California.
