Default Ontario XM-1 knife Midway clearance

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2749361213?pid=361213

Looks like a decent knife with good steel for a pretty good price.

This is not a light weight knife but worth picking up another.

Free Promo FREESHIP0117 was applied also. So 'only taxes' on the purchase.
Estimated delivery 6 business days on Jan 28 (as 1/20 is a holiday)

That's a thick azz knife!!! Blade and handle.

Good price, I'll probably get one to keep in truck or garage or something... looks too thick to Be comfortable as pocket carry. But maybe I'm wrong.

Heres a good review vid... it's long and in sub-titles but he really puts it through some brutal testing... the blade itself performed really well - the liner lock, not so much. Normal use wouldn't have same results though.

The blade is very thick and robust, but the liner lock is a bit thin by comparison... supposedly its titanium, but it bent out of position and created some play. But no complete failure.

I'm gonna get one - thanks for posting OP

I can't get the embedded vid to work - so here's a link

Same here... I've got so many damn knives it crazy... these days I'm normally able to ignore the impulse - but this deal was intriguing and after a little research, it was a must have.

Great deal on what looks to be a really good knife.

Lol, what do you recommend as a good everyday carry? lightweight, durable and cheap?

Lightweight, durable... most of the ones I carry aren't cheap though

The cheapest of 4 or 5 EDC I have is a Sog Aegis (love that knife)... but i also carry ZT 0560 (either black or fde), benchmade AFO II, or one of several Kershaw Launch (usually 5)

The zt0560 and sog Aegis get the most use.

I've got cases full of others that never get uesed.

You should be able to find a Sog Aegis for 60 or less...

How much are you wanting to spend?

Honestly, ~$30-40. not really a knife guy, but would like a decent one for EDC.

I think the one in the thread will be a good bang for buck knife... just seems like it will be a little bulky for EDC (imo)... but for the price (just under 60 after tax) it would be worth getting and trying it out as EDC (if too bulky, it's a good pack knife or glove box ).

The Aegis is definitely a good bang for buck imo, and a great edc... I left one on tailgate of truck in a parking lot (lost it) and I immediately bought another. It's worth the 60 it costs...

For 30-40 I guess one of the Kershaws (there are many)... I'm not all that familiar with them... I've had lots of cheaper knives over the years, but none stick out in my mind as being recommendable.

The cheapest knife I'm a big fan of is the Aegis. If you want to spend a bit more I think you'd be happy with it... if I had an extra, or didn't like mine so much, I'd sell to you for what you are wanting to spend... maybe check used marketplace for one.

The handle is an inch wide, I doubt it will be a comfy pocket knife. The steel is great, the liner is rather weak for that type of steel used. All in all, $60 shipped with the lifetime warranty is probably a good deal.

I kept the Ontario RAT1 as a daily carry for years. Picked it up on sale for around $20 half a decade ago.

My EDC is a Kershaw “Grid” that I got on sale at Big5 for about $24.00. The blade could be a better steel but the frame lock is great and the speed assist opening is wicked fast.

This is my favorite budget edc. https://www.amazon.com/Ontario-8848-...9500351&sr=8-1 Not the lightest, but a solid around budget knife. Better than most stuff at big 5 “on sale”.

Picked up one of these from Midway regardless. Thanks OP
