NF NX8 1-8 or Vortex 1-10 GEN 3
Looking a for a LVPO scope. I've used NF and some other in the past but never vortex. But they have that killer warranty.
Should be a mil reticle and illuminated. I don't want another 5.56 reticle. Last edited by jamie404; 06-23-2020 at 7:28 PM.. |

I found this video made by our very own SuperSet very informative. I'm trying to decide between these two as well, and think I'm leaning towards the Vortex based on his review. I'm just waiting for the prices to come down a bit.

I have 2 NX8's and the primary reason you should choose them is if you want something small and light, at the sacrifice of eye box and speed.
It's hard to beat the Vortex's for speed and forgiveness of the eye-box, but they are relatively big and heavy. I also have the Vortex Gen2e 1-6. Superset is pretty spot on with his assessment. |

Leupold has the same warrantee as vortex and has had it long before the vortex scopes came out. Get the Nightforce if comparing it to vortex

The Razor was designed to compete with the ATACR. |

What street price is this? Brownells and OP both have the ATACR listed for 2.8k

From a pricing perspective, you are correct. However, when you're comparing optics of similar quality, you should be comparing the Razor to the ATACR. Either way you slice it though, the Razor is the winner in my book. Because dollar for dollar compared to the the NX8, the Razor is simply a superior scope to the NX8 (optically). When you compare the Razor to the ATACR, the ATACR isn't worth the extra $$ IMO and thus, the Razor wins again.

The Razor 1-6 set the bar. One of the most amazing aspects of that scope was how the ocular view looked like it was almost floating in the air. A lot of other scopes give you the feeling of looking through a straw. I had serious doubts about a 1-10 doing the same but Vortex delivered. All that said, I run the 1-6 on my 5.56 guns and a 1-10 on 308. |

I was in the same boat. Going with the NX8. Because of its relatively lighter weight it can be used as a true LPVO. The Vortex in the other hand is a pig. Running and gunning with that thing requires Hulk arms.
