Cleaning up in the bedroom last week, I found a Amazon gift card from a few years ago.
I checked online and it was still valid!
I started browsing knives just for fun, even though I have a bunch already.
I always wanted a Chris Reeves one piece / hollow handle knife, but they were way out of my price range.
But I did find this one last week, a CR licensed copy by Schrade, it arrived today.
I used the gift card so it only cost me a couple dollars and I won't be afraid to use it.

Mine does not have the white colored Schrade on it.

CRKT otanashi noh ken-

Looks and handles small for a 4.5 inch blade.

But the big folding knife bug has me now. Next purchase will be another Cold Steel, I just cant decide between the Talwar XL, the Rajah II, or just say fek it and get the XL Espada.

Nice. Like those threaded bolsters. Reminds me of the original Schrade trapper style.

Kershaw Hinderer Cryo G10, Kershaw Hinderer Ember, Kershaw 1776 / Link !

All three of these are screaming bargains. Fit and finish is fantastic. The 1776, besides having a cool model number, is a USA made knife. The blackwash is gorgeous and the aluminum scales are perfect. I love all three of these already - even the tiny Ember.

Default MSA Ideal Knife

Attachment 417232My last find was a Marbles Ideal 5 inch blade . Vintage 1903 MSA Blade stamp . Marbles did not use the Marbles stamp until 1911. Vintage Rolland sheath would be 1903 I Think , A little ruff but not bad for 100 + years.

It is really nice looking, super smooth but with zero blade play of course, like the copper bushings are polished and broken in already... only thing I would change after first impressions would be the lock bar tension could be tighter and the detent is soft for my tastes. I guess I am used to ZT's. My other Benchmades are Axis locks. I do like it though.

A Kershaw "Needs Work"

Sharpest blade I've ever worked with, good ergonomic handle, extremely nice assisted opening mechanism, but the clip is nearly useless. Likely not going to be an EDC knife, but I'll throw it in the mix on occasion depending on what I need it for. I'm an avid Spyderco fan and prefer how thin most of their knives tend to be.

I'm seriously considering a ZT, can't remember the model, but it was an Elmax steel model.

I've played with the Vicar and really like it, my only gripe is the belt clip and the lack of different ways to put it. I'll probably get one anyway.

That green G10 is seriously grippy. I love the ergonomics and that blade shape. I would only want it like it is setup (right-hand TIP UP with that soft detent blade shoved against the side of my pocket). I guess if you are left-handed you are out of luck at least for now.

It would not be fun to have that razor sharp slab open up in the pocket. You can shake the blade out or whip it out pretty easy. Just a bit more detent and I'd love the knife. I may take it apart to tighten the pivot.

I broke my Buck buying binge. I just picked up an EESE Izula. Nice little knife. It is way overpriced but with some discount codes I got it for $23.
