Long range precision maybe passed 500yrds. Long term plan too for class and into competition for next year.

How large an objective do you want?

Wrong section; hopefully it gets moved to the right section for more traffic.

Personally, Burris XTR II which I've used up to 800 yards. You can buy this and use the remaining $500 for reloading components, etc.

If you're set up for reloading already, SWFA's HD scopes are very robust and have awesome glass. Comparable, is the Vortex Razor series.

You can pick up a used NF 5.5x22 NSX with a Zero Stop in the $1500 range.
As mentioned the SWFA HD glass is very nice and a great deal if you want FFP. And their non HD 3x15 is pretty damn nice for $699

I'm thinking of getting myself a Vortex Viper PST.

You should look at the vortex gen 1 scopes. Comes with a south mount so it’s a pretty good deal.
