Haha, I think I just moved up from 6/9/21 to your old spot if it was 5/26/21! Nice work on scoring that date. Hope I can nail down a much sooner appointment.

It seems to change every day. I got lucky when I did. I moved up several times using this method, and now I’m just waiting on training.

I know this was asked months ago, but for people who have gotten their renewals recently, did your new card have an expiration date from when your current renewal was approved or two years from when the expiring card expires?

I’ve been checking every day and haven’t seen any openings. I attributed it to bad luck but wondering now if it’s because I check late night after I’m done with work. Or combination of both.

1/2/2021: CCW Training course
1/7/2021: Receipt of Training certificate, submitted to OCSD
1/7/2021: Approved by OCSD, pending phone payment and USPS delivery of CCW

The website still instructs applicants to select "pay at counter", I remember last time around, so 2 years ago, people were trying to pay online and it was hanging up. I chose "pay at counter", is this still an option and will it delay anything in a renewal?

Can't recall exactly what I selected during the recent renewal but that was probably it (pay at counter). Previously if one selected to pay via credit card using the Web site, the charge would go through and later have to be refunded. Extra work for them. Now they will call you after the approval email to arrange for payment to be collected over the telephone.

Thanks, this is helpful. Is this the best way i.e. wait on Livescan and training until after the interview? I was thinking of maybe doing those (or the Livescan at least) while I'm waiting for the interview on the theory that may speed things up on getting an answer (hopefully approval).

I originally scheduled for a May interview but was about to bump myself to April and currently scheduled for 3/16/2021, but haven’t been able to move it any closer. I actually completed all the live scan and training and got my Arizona’s non-resident permit already. Just waiting for the interview for CA.

It’s a good sign that Arizona gave me a permit, as that means there’s no issue with my background check.

Did my Zoom interview on Dec 8th 2020. All required forms were uploaded on the 9th. 5 weeks later the wait is killing me!

Seriously? After my interview I did training and livescan. Uploaded my training cert and was approved same day, CCW arrived in mail a couple days later.

My interview was 8/27 and I already had everything completed and submitted without any issues or requests for additional information. Card arrived in the mail on 10/23.

Currently still waiting on an amendment submitted 11/9.

Do you recommend I get approved first and then remove it?

My original appointment was July 2021. I would check every time I sat in front of a PC for updates, almost to the point of checking every 30 minutes. After 6 successful bump ups, I got mine to Dec 8th of last year.

Once you get approved, let the staff know you want to remove it. They’ll do it before issuing your license.
