That's why I submitted and paid for each rifle individually. Worked out great.

That was definitely the right way to do it, I guess I was one of the guinnea pigs who figured that out the hard way so nobody else would make the same mistake

It’s going to take a lawsuit for this to be handled. There is zero reasons processing should take longer than the DROS waiting period for a RAW /‘s registration to be processed

Eh... We're nowhere near the point of throwing funds at a lawsuit. They are still processing stuff, they're just being slow. See my signature line. When they stop processing stuff, only then is it time to sue.

I guess the question is who has received an approval in the last 2 weeks or so? We are 2 days away from hitting 3 months from the final applications.

I asked my Magic 8-Ball if DoJ was down to just one staff member processing BBAW applications, and the answer was Yes. That sure was anti-climactic.

According to posts in the main AW registration thread, there have been DOJ responses (asking for corrections) as recently as yesterday, including a few reports of receiving notifications during last weekend, indicating that the one or two staff still working on this are working overtime. The most recent report of an actual approval was 3 days ago.

I’ve got a buddy who registered mid June. He got a kick back on Weds for a mistake he made. So they are still processing.

They are definitely still processing. Just at the rate of maybe 1 application in the a.m. and another application in the p.m.

Adding a point of reference here.

Submitted application on May 22 for 3 rifles - call them "A", "B" and "C".

Sept 21 - Confirmation for "B", Reject again for "C"
Sept 28 - Finally Confirmation for "C"

Two transactions May 23 (lost connection, would not let me add). First registration with 3, second with two. All 5 firearms show pending in CFARS.

First: two rifle, one pistol. Pistol manufacturer not on list. August 30, request to update to correct manufacturer. Approved these three Sep 23. Letter only shows these three.

The other two submitted same day, no update, no request for correction.

** I am also DOJ instructor with current COE.

I submitted a joint registration on two rifles in the middle of June. Two minor corrections came same day I submitted them, corrected them and haven't heard anything since. Still waiting... Pretty weaksauce.

I have you beat by 2 months - for a factory CA compliant model with the factory-installed bullet button.

If you registered 3 AWs, do you receive a letter for each individual AW or one letter listing all 3?

Depends on how you did your registrations.

The last letter will have all three and any before listed as well.

You get one letter per $15 fee paid. If you did all 3 under the same application ($15 fee), you'll get 1 letter when all 3 are done processing. If you did all 3 under seperate applications ($45 in fees), you'll get 3 letters.

As the post above mine mentions, each subsequent letter usually (but not always) includes all the guns that were registered before it.

Thanks for the answers. Funny as yesterday, stuff submitted in June was kicked back "incomplete" as a 233 556 receiver roll mark are DOJ defined as "firearm with interchangeable barrels"

My brother and I both submitted our registrations 6/29/18. he did all of his rifles on one application. I broke mine out into three separate applications.

he got his approval today. I got two of my three approvals today as well

One thing I've noticed in this and other threads, is that almost everyone submitted their apps in the last month of the window, most in the last week, and quite a few on the last day.

If you're in that category, stop stressing out. It shouldn't be a surprise that you're being processed last.

There are people who submitted apps in March and April who still haven't heard anything.

This has to be the definition of arbitrary and capricious. Regular guy gets a confirmation email, while redbull addict gets crickets. Both with very close submission dates.

Don't forget those of us who submitted in early May who also haven't heard anything.

Edit: The most frustrating thing for me, is the lack of communication from DoJ.

Yeah, I was shocked how quickly they responded but I think it was a pretty common mistake. 556 vs multi so maybe they were just knocking those out as they came in.

Not sure if it made a difference, but I submitted very high quality photos, included an open tape measure in the full rifle photo, HK91 type. When I submitted I did the math and guessed I would get a response in the first week of Oct., oddly enough I nailed it.

So after submitting an issue that I moved, my rifles were reviewed and I got comments on Friday. All three were moved to incomplete to change the address and I need to change my multi caliber riffles to interchangeable barrels. They also need an additional photo for one rifle. I fixed the 2 and will fix the last tonight.

One comment was also about my features being wrong. I think its my angled foregrip. I submitted it as a forward grip to be safe but I dont think its really one.

I have not gone back and read all of the posts in this thread. So, if there is a direct answer to my question, please point me to the post. I registered all of my BBAWs and, after correcting a few minor glitches, all were approved. I then attempted to co-register them for my wife. All of hers were turned down because they did not exactly match mine. First, I assumed that she acquired them from me, rather than the person I acquired them from. This is simply BS, because she acquired them from me, not form some other person or entity that she never met or even knows. Not so, according to the CA DOJ. But, remember that the submittal is under penalty of perjury, so how could she have acquired them form somebody she never met? In a couple of cases, I listed California as the place of manufacture and she listed the US as the place of manufacture for these same weapons. When I called DOJ, I was told that since I used CA she must also list CA as the place of manufacture. I replied that although the A holes in the State Legislature may think that CA is not part of the US, the last time I looked it was, so my wife's registration was, in fact, accurate and correct.
So my question is this. How much time do we have to modify her submittals?

I finally got an incomplete notice after 3 months of waiting. The funny thing is I was expecting a rejection based on me applying for a joint registration (which I later decided to change to a single registrant after I received the rejection), but they said my model number is wrong and I failed to mention “additional parts” in the photos, which is BS. Now I’m thinking about just converting my M92 to a featureless rifle instead of going through that mess again.

She acquired them the same day as you, same shop even though you DROSíed the firearm.

Now for my wife, they said to put down the day we started living together, basically when we got engaged. So for her, she had access to them from that day on. They told me to list myself as who she acquired it from. Not the shop.

I will be willing to bet herís will also be subjected to correction because none of them process anything in uniformity. It is all subjective to the auditor.

From what I have read here it seems to be between 7-21 days for the letter, with most people getting it in about 10-14 days.
