Is it out of the question to just remove the weapon from the holster and rest it on it's side on top of your thigh? I do not carry due to I don't have a CCW (due to I live in Los Angeles) so forgive me if this is a rookie idea.

I do realize safety is highest in a holstered weapon but I expect a CCW permit holder should be educated and familiar with responsible handling practices in or out of holster. I do realize that were someone to cross past the stall door that would place them in the path of a muzzle but in this case the trigger guard would be kept clear and the safety (if so equipped) could be active.

My thoughts are this would prevent any possibility of a brain fart (although it would not prevent all regular farts) resulting in leaving your weapon in the stall or otherwise losing track of it (stolen from off the hook, etc.). It would allow the weapon to be easily accessible (on the slim chance you were attacked in the john). It would also require no purchasing of additional or replacement equipment. It would work regardless of where on the waist you usually carry.

Is this not a good idea? By the way, I liked the idea in video posted by "socal m1 shooter." I think it makes a lot of sense. I just think it doesn't necessarily provide a solution for the OP who, from what I gathered, was concerned about other people seeing his weapon in his possession from their own stall or from the common area of the restroom.

Finally, all the props to Tango_Down for his hilarious meme response to the wise-crack by L84CABO.

"However, if I need to drop a 2 I put my g26 under my off hand arm pit and keep it there until launch is complete. Always kept in my personal control.
I've been doing it that way since I started carrying in the mid 80's. No matter the size gun, it works 100%. "

BINGO !!

From the funny pics thread, but ideas! Maybe carry around a magnet to stick on the partition wall and hold the gun.

Hilarious, but it does remind me of the confusion/paranoia I had the first time I carried concealed and had to do a 2 in a public men's room.

*I also use 3 azz gaskets on the seat prior to launch, so... safety first. Some people are filthy animals and really poor shots.

Sent using a long string and 2 used soup cans
I judge a restroom on whether or not they provide the customer with 2 ply or not.

By the time I have to actually consider using a public restroom to take a dump I'll wipe with the toilet seat protectors if need be.

I appendix carry. If I have to drop a deuce then I’ll loosen my belt, drop trou, and then flip my rig inwards so it lies horizontal to the ground but rests in the opening of my pants. That way the pants act kinda like a bowl so prying eyes won’t see anything poking out if they check underneath the stall.

Default Some Restrooms are More Providing

Some bathrooms provide a fold-out shelf for your firearm. Here's a pic I took while "busy".

When your deuce is done, there is no way you will forget and leave it behind since you have to fold it up and out of the way to exit.

For all modes of carry:
1. Loosen belt
2. Unbutton/zip
3. Clear knees with pants
4. Widen stance slightly
5. Cinch belt around lower legs
6. Deposit Duce
7. Wipe all pertinent areas
8. Reverse 1-5
9. Wash hands
10. Exit

I usually wear an undershirt, regardless of whether I am carrying IWB, OWB, or shoulder. Shoulder holsters are great when the temperature is, say, 75°-ish, or below. I would be reluctant to use it with a summer-weight cover garment.
