Default How far are the Targets?

As you can see in the video, there is a lot of variety in the steel targets. There are quite small (4") disks on the 22 caliber star. There is a 6" plate that everyone shoots at about 7 yards (closest), a lot of 8" plates, and big, square 12" X 18" plates on some of the stages. Farthest distance is probably 15 yards.

It's a fun shoot so you can miss and still have a good time.

Have fun, be safe, and shoot some guns...

Default December was cool!

Bit cool for the December match. Only 39 guns out to play. We didn't need ice for the water, but the skies were clear and we received more toys for the tots.

A safe and fun time for all. Here is the video

Default January - Cool Shooting

January brought bright crisp clear skies. Bit cool to start, but the sun warmed our group.

Default Sunny February

Beautiful day in the desert. The sun warmed the shooters nicely. Several new faces. March and April were cancelled.

Is there a rule book that describes what weapons fit in each class? I want to register properly.

For example, 1911A1 in 45 ACP and 9m. S&W M&P 15-22. Lever guns.

Looking forward to June 20th. Thanks.

Default Registration

Hi:

It's a fun shoot and the class can be changed on-site if it isn't quite right. Depends as much on customizing as caliber:

Centerfire Pistol Limited - 1911A1 in 45 ACP & 9mm (probably)
Centerfire Pistol Open - maybe here if you have red dot, etc.

Rimfire Rifle Limited - S&W M&P 15-22 (one of these)
Rimfire Rifle Open

Hope you make it out!

We had our third match since re-opening. Clear, sunny and pretty warm, with a bit of a breeze to help the comfort factor.

We had a great day yesterday at HDRGC. Fewer folks finding the ammo to shoot, but perfect temperatures and clear skies.

After a dip (ammo shortage, etc.) the last two months, we were back up to 5 squads today.

Great temperatures and clear desert skies.

Default November was Toys for Tots

Beautiful Saturday, a breeze to moderate the temperatures (ok, a tad chilly at first, but it warmed quickly). Lots of shooters back at the event and many toys were collected for the kids.

Here is the video

If you forgot to bring a toy or forgot to come to the Event, don't worry. Just sign up and come to the Christmas Event. We will gladly take your toys, cash, or whatever at that time.

On my list to do this..

For a ' First ' time at something like this
Decades ....... of shooting
And setting up my own steel target course
Do you recommend a .22 pistol ?
[ I have Ruger 22 / 45 and Kimber 1911 with .22 conversion slide ]

Default .22

.22 ammo is less expensive and makes for a good time. 5 mags helps quite a bit (5 strings of 5 targets per string for most stages) if you have more mags for one pistol over another, that might be a decider.

Thank you I am looking for a club/Range like some of the others where they give you a key and you can shoot from whatever set hours it is hard for me to go on set days and driving from Hemet. But it looks like a very nice range maybe I will be able to make it soon.

Default Palm Springs Gun Club

That's the way Palm Springs Gun Club works, but they don't have a distance range for rifles right now. Matches there are still being cancelled due to CV-19.

It doesn't take much longer to get there from Hemet and the wait for membership was pretty short last time I checked. Here is their contact PSGC

Default February Brings Back the Shooters

Our February event was the biggest since Nov. 2019!

The day started cool, but warmed quickly to a beautiful desert morning. 37 shooters with 47 guns and done before 11. Great time had by all.

Here's the video

Default March - Spring in the Desert

Not as many shooters, but a good turnout. The ammo shortage is hurting, but folks are coming out of their CV-19 foxholes.

Good time had by all as the morning warmed quickly to t-shirt weather.

Default August Video - HDRGC

August was a great event, though a bit light on shooters. 27 guns came out to play and we were done by 10:15. As a family oriented range, we're glad to see more of the younger crowd come out.

Default Cool Christmas Finale

You've got to see at least the first 2 clips; a 10-year-old shows us how it's done! First, 6 knock down plates with 6 rounds in under 5 seconds. Then TEN rounds to take out TEN whirling targets.
