Default What enumerated USCon rights are dependent on utility bills being current?

This is a blatant infringement that needs to be challenged. CA DOJ will reject background if Buyer is past due on a utility bill when purchasing a handgun.

Please enlighten us to how this is Constitutional. What other USCon and BoR are dependent on the status of one's utility bills?

Were you trying to use a past due notice for a utility bill as proof of residency?

Are you really asking this? Here in Commiefornia...Jeez. This “leading the nation” state is WAY beyond using that old rag for guidance. We tend to make crap up that feels good.

I agree. Personally I would use a delinquent property tax or DMV billing.

Can you please confirm with a legal cite?

Is this actually a bona fide Ca-DOJ requirement?

Or did some COUNTER MONKEY at a LGS make up crap, then blame his made up crap on DOJ?

The prof of residence gets copied and attached to the printed DROS. No one ever sees it unless there is an audit

This^^^

Donít know if itís a rule, but if you brought in a bill that says ďPast DueĒ, then thatís not current. Current means paid up to date.

If itís past due, it could just as easily mean that you were evicted, and no longer reside at the residence.

Your list of options vis a vis documentation can be found... Here.

Note that the utility bill must be from within the last three months, but must also reflect the current address.

How are they supposed to know if a 'past due' utility bill reflects your current address? A 'past due' notice may be seen as a 'red flag' that you've actually vacated that location. The point being that it's not "dependent on the status of your utility bill." It's dependent upon being able to offer proof of current residence.
