Default Finding S&W M&P 15 build date

I have a M&P15 that i bought a couple of years ago used. I love it and have no problems. I thought i would find the build date by my Ser #.
Well i have had zero luck on the internet.
I just want to find out if it is a in house build and what year.
SER # SZ 03xxx
model M&P-15
Thanks

If it matters to you, call S&W CS. Build date will not affect the value anymore than being "pre featureless".

mostly i would like to know if this is a Stag arms build or in house S&W build. It just says M&P 15 on the side in white . No sport or T.
Honestly it is not going to be sold.
I just wondered if the price about three years ago is holding up today. It looks new, i am very fussy how my guns look.
The ser # starting with a SZ seems odd. Most postings i see start with a SM

I don't believe there's any rollmark that says "Sport" or even "Sport II", just M&P 15.

However, the earlier ones did not have a fwd assist or dust cover, but had 1:8 twist and 5r rifling. Perhaps the po swapped out the upper before selling?

It's an mp15. $400 when they go on sale. $720 MSRP for optics ready

I'm no expert, this is just what I remember from my own shopping and researching over the years.

IIRC, the first ones were the "Sport" with the 1:8 5r melonite treated barrels, they had the upper receiver with no FA or dust cover. Their rear sights had both elevation and windage adjustment.

Several years later the "Sport II" came out. They had a FA and dust cover with a regular non melonited 1:9 barrel, and came with Magpul MBUS rear sight.

I think there were some later "Sport" models that had the slick side upper of the Sport but with a non melonite treated 1:9 barrel of the later Sport II along with MBUS rear sights.

The lowers on both the Sport and Sport II had curved integrated trigger guards.

OP, There's lots of videos on Youtube if you search for "Smith and Wesson M&P Sport"

Here's 3 videos of each in order:
