Okay I think I have the pictures accessible through Flickr. The account is open to public so there shouldn't have to be any logins. I don't think so anyway.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/7534855@N05

Just 5 for now to see how it works.

Illiana, I'll have the Marlin .35 rem with me and a bolt 30.06. Hope to have a scope on one of them before next shoot. I hope that will be before 14 April for Panoche.
I think M.Sage will bring out his .22 with a scope. Did you get a chance to shoot it at Chabot?

I think the .357 silvertips would have been no better than what you fired into the Kevlar as it seemed to stop all pistol rounds and most rifle rounds quite well.
Would like to see how a .44 Mag would perform on that critter though.

Back to Flickr.com to post more pics.

Cool pics! I'd like to see more. I'm hoping everyone will post the pics they took.

Can'tHaveNuthinGood: I'd like to try out what you have the next time we have occasion to meet. I'll be out at Panoche a few times before the 15 April closure. I did not have the pleasure to shoot M Sage's rifle at Chabot, perhaps next time I'll be fortunate. So much to learn..

Cheers

Have 17 pics up now.
Flickr seems to be a decent site for posting pics. They can be expanded and edited easily. Though I've not tried other sites.

Is the next Panoche shoot still on for the 14th of April?

blfd1 was wanting to get a bunch together to go out there. I was initially but have a wedding to attend on that saturday.
I think sned said he couldn't get out that way until end of April and by then Panoche is closed.

Start a thread and see who all wants to come out. I know a few expressed interest from looking at the pics.

Getting a group together for shooting generally entails last minute gotchas like work, emergency's and lack of ammo and or money. Currently I suspect gasoline prices would put a damper on things along with the taxmans hand reaching for your pocketbook.

Start a thread and ask who'll show up.

If theres an intrest, I could most likely make it.

For me it is kinda a long trip, but I think the shooting is great. Next time I go down I'm going to try and scout a place that would have longer shots, and maybe the ability to drive towards the longer range targets.

I also need to buy a range finder, that's gonna take a few dollars that I have set aside for my other NDS-3 build. On the last trip I was suprised how accurate my Romy build was out to the farthest gong.

Going to Panoche is always a long trip... but after I get there, I'm sure glad I made it. And the shooting is always great!

Still discussing the same rescheduled shoot here, or did it come and go, or what?

Just trying to figure out if this thread should still be stickied now that St. Patrick's day is over.

If no one can come up with a good reason (ok, at least a better one than krinker plinker or logical fallacy), consider this a 24-hour request-for-comment prior to de-stickying...

All I could find is this:

The Panoche and Tumey Hills are closed to vehicle use with the onset of fire season, roughly April 15-October 15.

http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/holli..._tumeys.1.html

There's gotta be some BLM or Nat'l Forest land nearby that is open. I'm near SF And Knoxville is only a little bit longer of a drive than Panoche.

Opening day, 15 October is a monday.

If the creek don't rise and the hill stays dry I'm in.

Right now with an empty dance card, any day is fine here.

I need to find a place out there that we can shoot out further than 400 yards... at least 600 yds would be nice.

If anyone is in the area (yea right)who can check it out or knows any longer range areas to shoot at Panoche let me know.

Maybe ought to start a separate thread and get this out of the archived forum with limited posting rules.

First sunday sounds good to me.

Default Looks like I will be calling in sick that Monday.

Hi Boss,

I got an eye problem...I can't see myself coming into work today.
Just a heads up, that first weekend after the gates open, them hills will be full of hunters.

Also another side note...People are starting to leave a lot of trash again up there. I know I've picked up at least 20 lbs. or more of brass from there with in the past month. A lot of .223 and .308. So if you go there or anywhere else to shoot or camp please pick up after yourselves.
