I don't mean to thread Jack but there are these homemade versions of the same thing using a Bic lighter and a piece of wire that you heat up after you've touched a possibly infected surface here is one short video but this one uses a thinner gauge wire and doesn't Captain Hook Style bend it at the end, like some of the longer videos. It will just give you an idea of the concept and the cost is the price of a lighter and some wire. Probably about 2 bucks ...

Even better for you guys that have a 3D printer this companies offering a free program that let you make a door knob /handle adapter that doesn't use your hands to open the doors. (You might even be able to sell them to your local stores for 25 bucks for all I know)...
