I know this is the LE forum..but I heard thru the grapevine that San Jose FD sent their employees the mandate a few days ago to vax or lose your job.

Everyone waiting for their unions to defend them...remember your unions have been propping up the democrat power structure in this state for four decades...They are not about to turn on their democrat masters for you on this...it is vital that the democrats appear to be in total control of the "organs of state power" as we are pushed down the rabbit hole of socialism/communism.

The mandate apparently will exempt Congress and staff, the judiciary and staff and probably others.


Seems like a good case for an Equal Protection issue. 14th Amendment

I’m not LE but I expect my union will fold like a cheep suit.


Even though the website still says they stand for workers right to chose the vax, they’ll stick to what they are good at. Collecting dues and protecting guys with DUI’s in company rides.

Well, I just got off the phone with my captain and was told by Oct. 14th if I'm not vaccinated, I will be removed from my post and will have to stay home and burn my own time until I'm vaccinated or if the order changes.. or work inside the jail. On the plus side my best friend just told me Texas DPS is hiring and that I could come stay with him in Texas while I go through the interview process.. he's been trying to convince me to move out there for years.. I'm the stay and fight kind of guy, but I'm getting tired.

Someone from my union legal team emailed me earlier this week and said they're filing a lawsuit this week and will request a restraining order on the enforcement of the mandate

Wow, just wow. This is "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (original anti-Communist) level stuff. Every lawyer/law firm I've ever heard from is always gung-ho about filing a big lawsuit (with your money, and Police Unions never seemed shy about hiring good lawyers for members).
In anything even hinting a "social issue" lawyers will say that even if they lose the case it might "be worth it to draw attention to issue" and pretty sure lawyers do stuff like file a lawsuit to drag out info that will affect another planned case, etc.

Suddenly these 2021 Union Employment lawyers are talking like Coal Mine Owners from about 1805. Stuff like "Hostile Workplace" etc is never dismissed with "why don't they quit then?"

"Emergency Use" means its "still experimental" and it was never authorized only E-Use extended because FDA, like Building Dept that has a calendar for how much time "stake holders"(NIMBYs) have to respond after you post required notices and signs etc , has various set time blocks for things to happen and those rules haven't officially been gutted.

FDA rules, procedure and slowness has been widely blamed by Big Pharma for high drug prices for decades.

I'm really amazed "they" are moving this hard and fast even against the (in some ways) most legally protected class of workers/citizens.

Isn't the entire point of a Union to battle for the individual rights of the worker? Why does the Union decide if they're going to fight this or not. If a Union member doesnt want it and feels its discriminatory, I dont see how the Union has a choice.

This is the whole problem. Unions, Representative Governments, etc. have completely forgot who they actually work for. THey work for YOU and US not for "The Union" or "the Agency".

My non-LEO, non-Public Sector union leadership has made statements like "As Union bosses we are in an awkward position caught between the need to defend worker's rights and not wanting to do anything that will hurt pushing Vaxx".

In other words its clear who's side they are on (and of course Union bosses are in the group that themselves will never be pushed into getting Vaxxed) but they might file a few designed to lose legal motions.
I'm guessing if they don't do anything they could in turn get sued for laying down on the job, so they are filing a few CYA loser motions to be able to say "We tried but the Courts have ruled".

In a few years it will come out that Union bosses and lawyers were pulling a General Millie.
