Default Bay Area Women - Check in here

Ladies,

It seems like we're developing a group of women in various parts of the San Francisco Bay Area who want to shoot together.

Please check in here, so you can find each other? It will help me make a case for getting the Bay Area its own official CGN Chapter.

Please say where you are, like East Bay, Peninsula, Marin, San Jose area, just a general idea so people know who is near them.

Hi all! I've been shooting about ten years, mostly pistol and shotgun--just getting into carbines and rifles as of late. Shoot mostly at Los Altos Rod and Gun or Reeds. Live in central San Mateo County.

hi, Kristen and Maggs!

Kristen, I use the los altos range the most but mostly for pistols.

Maggs, there's lots of info here in the Ladies Forum [and elsewhere on calguns] re pistols and "starting". many will suggest taking a class. and all will say handle and shoot as many as you can prior to buying.

also, checkout corneredcat.com
some of the best info for women by a woman!

Not a female but was at Los Altos this past Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few female shooters. Some were with their SO's or parents and some with their girlfriends (or sister, couldn't tell). Even saw a solo female shooter. Pure awesome!

I'm in Santa Clara/Cupertino and very interested in a women's shooting group. I've been talking to The Well Armed Woman and have hooked up with at least four other women here in the South Bay who are also interested. Lets get something going! There is a group in Sacramento that we could have tournaments with, which would be fun once the newbies get trained.

I live in the Central valley and commuting long distances is out for me. Is there anyone who lives around the Tracy/Modesto area?
If so, I would be interested in meeting down in this area.

welcome, littleoldlady!

OHOD recently moved to Manteca but she hasn't been participating on calguns hardly at all since them move!

you might check with these folks: http://www.mantecasportsmen.com/dev/

they have programs specifically for women and you might meet a shooting friend there.

Hi I live in the East Bay Fremont area ... I am a newbie and have only been shooting for less than a year and I've been going shooting at Target Masters, Metcalfe and Chabot Gun ranges. I like the outdoor ranges better because of my rifle.

welcome to the Ladies Forum and to Calguns in general!
I believe there are several East Bay shooters [female] that participate here.
admittedly, i'm not East Bay but I've never heard of Metcalfe.

so, what pistol[s]/rifle[s] are your favs?

Metcalfe is in San Jose it's also called Santa Clara Valley Rifle Club ... I have a Sig Sauer M400 , XDm, and a Ruger 10/22. My favorite is probably the Sig. I have a lot of fun shooting that at the range. Whats yours?

mostly Los Altos Rod & Gun Club's range up on skyline.
sometimes Markley's in Watsonville.
the only firearm we have in common is the Ruger 10/22!

Hi all! Contra Costa here. Brand new to shooting, will pick up my first shotgun in a few days. I'd like to do some skeet and also closer range (for HD) shooting in Richmond and Martinez. I would be interested in getting a group together.

howdy from north oakland i have been shooting since '96. i don't own a lot of firearms; mossberg shotgun, browning blr (takedown) .308, glock 22 (.40cal) and a Springfield Armory 1911 GI model. My 1911 is my favorite

I usually shoot at San Leandro or Jackson Arms.

I love teaching others to shoot. I'll try to keep an eye on this thread to see if a group is going. I also have a friend who I usually invite to newby shooter events because he is a great teacher and brings a lot of his guns for others to try.

Lately, I have been spending a lot more time with my compound bow (Mission Craze) and want to start bowhunting soon. Anyone who wants to go to Chabot or SFarchers for some target practice should pm me

Hi everyone
I'm in Contra Costa County and pretty new to shooting.
Not too many ladies posting on this thread, I know there are more women out there.
I wanted to bump so we can keep it going.

Hey everyone!
I've been lurking around this site a while and haven't taken the time to meet the ladies. So hey! I'm in Sonoma County. Hopefully this thread starts to come alive again! I'd love to see if there are any ladies in my area that would like to go shooting.
